anyone track their M6? Laguna Seca onboard

Took the beast out, first time at Laguna, learning my way around.
Running on 4S.

Thing was a blast!

This was SpeedSF!

I got flagged at the sound check section up the hill, w my Soul exhaust, iw as going W0t tho, that was a mistake!

Learning the track, and the weight of the car. Totally manageable, next time i'll be able to push harder! The car is more suited for a track like thunderhill though, where I have more experience. But still, laguna was a blast! Love being able to road trip a few hours, hoon around the track, and then head back home in utter comfort!

I definitely would LIKE to lower the car a bit more, and possibly get a Dinan anti roll bar, but don't realy want to compromise the street driving aspect... Tough call

Cool video, definitely could push it in the corners but you were doing it right by learning the lines first. The sound check portion of Laguna is such nonsense.

Have you taken the RSV4 or S1krr on that track? It's a goal of mine to ride Laguna and drop in on the corkscrew!

Yeah, the elevation changes in Laguna are deceptive. And as good as the M6 is in th e corners, its weight really comes into play in all those massive elevation drops/camber changes. I'm more in tune with literbikes ona track, so its a totally different feeling.

I was running 275F 305R michelin4 s's at 37PSI hot, and they felt AMAZING. I can't believe those tires grip that much, and I wasn't even going hard! I've also had the stock suspension adjusted for more toe out in front and max camber in rear. No Understeer at all!

I've taken the 2013 gen S1krr around laguna, and that was a revelation! Honestly though, i enjoy thunderhill more than laguna. Laguna is great, i'll do it once in a while, but Thill, you can go FLAT OUT and really feel what a car/bike can do when topped out.> Same goes for braking!

Great video. I just picked up a M6 Competition Edition and Thunderhill is my local track as well (I live in San Jose) and plan to take the M6 to a HoD event or similar.

Clean lines and smooth. I used to track my Corvette at all the local tracks (THill, LS, Sonoma, Buttonwillow), but never tried the M6.

A lot of Bay Area folks here. Would be interesting to have a socially distanced meetup :-)

We should meet up sometime. Unfortunately my car is a little sick just now... it came off the transporter and had some weird errors due to low battery. I took the car to BMW stevens creek. They changed the battery and then found ignition coils were bad and changed them. I picked the car back up yesterday and I got 12 miles when I got another error saying "drivetrain malfunction" and back to BMW... they have now changed the injectors and the wiring harness and problem is still there. So they continue to go deeper into the engine to try and find the issues. I am just glad I have 8 months of warranty remaining. But not a great experience for my first BMW and I have only driven it 12 miles without an error showing up!

These errors are actually pretty typical for the N63 and S63 motors. It is indeed what BMW is trying to fix, ignition coils injectors and harnesses. Easily thousands of dollars if you were to do it outside of warranty.

Haha thanks, AZ it is!

I must admit I'm a bit nervous with the idea of it because I'm left handed and I'm used to wiggling the lever with my left hand, in saying that I've driven about 30 manual cars and trucks over about 200k miles so I'm fairly comfortable with it - but with my other hand!

This is getting way off topic now but have you seen this thread? Perhaps worth posting in there discussing your experiences.
