Question Wheel and Tyre Choice - Opinions sought

Hi Folks,

Picked up a 2013 640D M-Sport a few weeks ago and am loving it. I'm looking to replace the stock 19" Silver Alloys with a set of 20" Black ones, and am considering the following.

Can anyone comment on Manufacturer, as well as sizes, offsets, etc?

Judd Model One
F 9Jx20 ET30
R 10.5Jx20 ET38

**Offset can be from 20 to 45

As for tyres, I'm looking at Vredestein Ultrac Vorti. It seems the Michelin PPS are very popular here but I had Vredestein on my X5 and was very happy with them. I found them quiet, which was a big bonus on the X5.

F 255/35/20
R 295/30/20 or should I stick to 285's?

Thanks in advance for any advice offered.

If you’re LOWERING your car, I’d say
F 20x9 +(24), 255/35
R 20x10.5 +(34), 295/30
Otherwise they would stick out pass the fenders on STOCK HEIGHT. Also since you’re going with Non Michelin tires, this set up will be super flush without any rubbing.

Thank you. If I don't plan on lowering, what would you recommend? Also what do you mean "super flush without any rubbing"?

Those wheels look great, but I would be wary of buying a cast alloy wheel in a 20" or larger size for the 6-Series. Cast wheels are generally heavier, causing more unsprung weight, and not as strong as a forged wheel.

They are certainly much more inexpensive than a forged wheel for our cars, but if you live in an area with bad roads, this might be something you want to think about.

What I mean by super flush is even out with the fenders. But if you’re planning to keep your car on stock height, just add 6mm or 7mm on the front and rear offset.

Thanks for this insight. I had a set of (very) cheap alloys on an old 5-series and managed to buckle the front two.

Perfect, thanks for the clarification. So around 30 & 40 Offset respectively.
