UK Speed limiter
So, last night I had the privilege of being able to take my car for a top speed run on a disused runway which has been bought by a local property developer friend of mine.
As expected the car blasted its way up the speedo but then it stopped at exactly 165mph, no matter what settings I had on it would limit at 165mph. I know the cars are supposed to be limited to 155mph but I was under the impression that my car had the EU M drivers package taking the limiter up to 196mph. The fastest I ever got my old E60 M5 up to was 180mph on a German autobahn however that had no alteration to the speed limiter as far as I'm aware. I just found it quite strange, the car clearly had plenty of power left. I thought I'd find out what experience's other members have had with their cars? |

My understanding is these M cars are electronically unlimited. There has been reported runs of 200 mph for stock cars. Interesting
