6-Speed M6 For Sale (Not Mine)

Just saw this car pop up, I know lots of people looking around for one and they are not easy to come by. I don't know the background on the car. Not affiliated with dealer or car.

Comp, B&O and the newer idrive system as well. Only thing that is a shame is that it has extended leather not full leather.

Smooth supple 'nappa' leather on the dash, door cards and armrest (full merino leather) versus the dakota style leather that I believe is some sort of synthetic (extended leather).

Extended leather do not cover lower doors, underneath the dash, and no double stitching on the doors or dash
And I believe its all using Merino Leather, full Merino leather covers basically every single area you can touch/reach.

I've had extended on my 650 which was very luxurious Nappa leather, but Full leather takes it to a whole new level, leather everywhere as my girlfriend says

For example :
Driving assistance panel (left side under the steering wheel)
Full : Merino leather wrapped
Extended : soft touch material

Dashboard (above instrument cluster)
Full : double stitched Merino
Extended : no contrast stitching

Doors (Upper arm rest beside window)
Full : double stitched Merino
Extended : no contrast stitching

Doors (lower cubby)
Full : double stitched Merino
Extended : soft touch material

lower center console (left of temp controls and the trim underneath/beside the drive selector)
Full : Merino leather
Extended : soft touch material

Glovebox
Full : leather
extended : soft touch material

Nice looking car.

But agree with the above comments about Extended vs. Full leather option, it makes a tremendous difference to the look and feel.

Also seems to have a custom exhaust and lowered which I wouldn't be a fan of without knowing the exact modification history.

Excellent specs. If only it was a GC, would have been a fantastic combo.

I'll be very curious as to what this car sells for. The market for relatively rare, manual transmission, European sports cars is absolutely bonkers these days.

A '97 993 Turbo S with decent miles just sold for $400k on BaT this week.

Definitely rare - one of 68 Coupes with a 6MT.

Assuming the take-rate was similar to the GC, it should be 1 of about ~15 Coupes with 6MT+Comp

The market for 993s is grossly overinflated these days as there seems to be bit of a craze to get your hands on the last "classic" Porsche. A 996 Turbo S, while maybe not as pretty, can be had for a fraction of the cost and still a classic in its own right.

I really could go hard into this topic but this isn't the place for it. I totally agree with you.

I once owned a 997 GT2, and I paid a reasonable premium over a standard 997 TT because I appreciated the differences mechanically/etc, and you couldn't duplicate the GT2 for the delta in price.

Now GT2s trade for 2.5-3x what a comparable 997TT sells for. Which is just very strange to me. It's a wonderful car, but to your point about 911s... a little inflated.

911 market is all messed up. it's literally impossible to predict what people value and don't value any giving year.

Porsche have shown that when there's demand for a certain spec, they will not let the secondary market take their lunch money. Porsche will just flood the market for as many as the demand will take, a la the 4.0L craze.

There is a craze right now buying up all the 3.8L NA cars. First it was air-cooled, and then it was 4.0L, then Metzger, now 3.8L. case in point, a 991.1 3.8L GTS is approaching the same price as a 991.2 3.0T GTS on the used market. Never mind that 991.2 it's a far superior car. And don't get me started on the 997.2 GTS. The pricing on it is starting to be insane. 3 years ago when I was in the market, you can probably pick one up in the mid-$60s. Today with more miles, it's still the same price if not more, but for what...? Meanwhile, the fantastic 991.1 Turbo keeps dropping in price.

Agree 100%! I have owned mine since January, and I still can't believe how underrated the driving experience is (I am coming from an M2), especially on German roads. It's the first car I have ever owned that I have had no desire to modify. I didn't even fully realize how rare they were either, and USDM only (I have had a lot of shocked looks from German auto enthusiasts when they see the 6-speed lever in the car). I think mine might even be the only one like it in the world (Frozen Paint, Full opal white interior). The original owner had really good taste!

Guess what? The original owner of your car is on this forum. Mr.SugarSkulls ordered it, Frozen Black, 6MT over white.

Curious how it made it over to Germany?

He reached out to me prior to buying, and I'm glad it landed in good hands.

I still think about that car- and it's commanding presence however my ocd couldn't handle it.

Have you had any Drivetrain malfunction issues like I did? It eventually got lemoned out and got into the i8 after, but I certainly miss looking at that car.

If only the m8 was offered in MT- I'd replicate another one in a heart beat

Oh nice. I would think that would be a pain to import to Germany, but once TÜV approves it, I'd you have some jealous friends now. I had a few friends in Germany and TÜV makes the California BAR and smog process seem like child's play!

Actually, this car has been extremely reliable, not a single drivetrain malfunction, Check engine light, or even any issues with oil consumption. I've taken it on several road trips throughout Germany (~900 KM round trips a piece) without a single hiccup. The car has about 45,000 miles on it now, and it looks like the owner after you did a lot of driving as well. I just had a Blackstone oil-analysis performed on my last oil change, and she got a clean bill of health. I agree with you on the OCD however, I must wash this car at least 2-3 times a week, always garaged, always covered. Although, the white interior tends to stay suprisingly clean. I have only done about two thorough cleaning and condition sessions since I purchased it. I think I will be buried with this car lol.
