Anybody have this weird OBD-II port issue?
When I bought my car 4 years ago I went for an emissions test before registering it. They could not get their scanner to communicate with my OBD-II port and told me my car was "broken." I then realized that my car was too new to need a test so I ignored it. In the meantime I have had no problem using my own OBD-II scanner or my Bimmercode dongle, and back when it was under warranty I'm sure the dealer hooked up to the port as well. Fast forward to yesterday when I finally got an emissions test and had the same issue with two different scanners at the emissions station - no comms. My X3, also an F series car, had no such issue the prior day with the same cable.
Has anybody seen anything like this before where a port that seems to work normally for everybody else in the world does not work at an emissions testing station? |

Check if there is a tracker installed at or near the OBD2 connector. Some trackers interfere with sensitive scanners.
