I still think Florida as a whole is one of the best places to live... the reason you hear this craziness is because many people don't understand FL is the 3rd most populated state behind CA and TX... and we are the only state that publicly reports all crimes which is where all the FL memes come from.

I do wish it was less crowded tho lol... way too many clowns moved here over the past 10 years.

Would love to live in Florida but I hate the heat! I used to live in Scottsdale, AZ for two years and the summers were the worst. But however, the winter time..absolute best!

I know I would miss the seasons as I love the cold. So maybe when I am an old fart I would consider it. But as of right now...Cincinnati, OH is where I reside and appreciate the 4 seasons...well....maybe 2, sometimes 3. lol

Heading to Destin, FLA in 24 days for 10 days. Can't wait though!

Oh I know. We go every year around that time. Good thing is, our condo is right on the beach and our pool is a few steps from our door. I can handle the heat in small doses...just not 365 straight days.

Yes, A LOT of clowns here and moving here. My wife and I moved to the northeast coast last year. Hopefully we are not the clowns you're referring to.

Living inland is hot. Living on the coast is not nearly as bad, especially on the Atlantic side and up north. Problem is the cost of living is a bit more by the coasts compared to inland. I would rather have 4 months of hot and 7-8 months of really nice that we get in the northeast coast. My wife and I moved from Colorado (she's a native and I am as close to a native as one can get) and we don't miss the cold even a little bit. I shoveled exactly 0" of snow off my driveway last winter. It was awesome!!!

Exactly, I plan on being in the pool and some in the ocean with my 6 year old daughter and playing some water games. She loves to play toss with a mini nerf football that howls and likes to jump in the pool trying to catch it. Should be fun.

We always go to Destin early - mid August. Seems to be a little less crowded!

Awesome! Have fun! We are headed to Sedona in October and might be heading up there for the day to check out the Grand Canyon! Be safe and have fun!

Luckily with going to Destin, there is always a nice breeze when outside so it doesn't feel as hot but it's still pretty damn warm.
