My 2013 M6 F12

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Finally got around to taking some pics. Mods so far:

AMS catted downpipes
H&R springs
ACS spoiler
Sakhir orange calipers (had to pay homage to the great new color)
Painted taillights
CQuartz Finest paint protection (a must have for any black car, really makes the metallic pop as well)

Escort 9500 ci radar detector/laser jammer
2 10 inch Image Dynamic subs, Focal mids and tweets in the doors, Audison Bit One preamp, Zapco 750 watt amp, Image Dynamic 4x 50 watt amp, Arc Audio 2x 50 watt amp (B&O sounded good with the top up but not loud enough with the top down...not that any stereo is EVER loud or clean enough haha

Still waiting on my D2 Forged wheels, and a proper tune and then I should be good.

Sweet! I have been waiting for someone to put an audio system in an F12. Can you post, or pm me, some more pics of the subs? I would love to see how they fire into the cabin. Also, did you mount the Focal's in the stock locations in the doors? What sizes did you use? Did you replace the speakers under the seats? Did the Bit One integrate well without issues?

Sorry for all the questions. Again, great ride! Can't wait to see it with the new wheels.

So you start the upgrades with the already good B&O system
Can you share a vid with the new sound system in action ?
Thanks and keep it up!

Thanks guys.

I used K2 Focals in the front powered by 4 channels of the new amps, its a 4 inch mid and a tweeter that fit right into the factory placement. I just found out Focal makes a shallow mount 6 inch mid that will fit so ill be swapping the 4 inch cause its lacking a little bit in the mids, although it sounds much better and louder than the B&Os.

I left the 8s under the seat but added a new amp so i could use the crossover to make it like a mid bass, so its essentially a 3 way speaker setup with bass just coming from the subs. Focal is coming out with 8 inch drivers made just for the 6 series soon, and when they do Ill swap those out. Im sure they be amazing like everything Focal does.

The subs are forward firing and sound great, unfortunately I don't have pics cause its sealed behind the amp.

The Audison Bit One is a digital signal processor that allows you to tune it by plugging in to a laptop, its amazing and id have one even if I left the stock speakers. It really cleans up sound coming from factory head units. I have a bass control knob in the ashtray so I can adjust on the fly.

The B&O was a good sounding stereo, the best factory setup Ive ever heard, but a full system is a must for me with any convertible. It sounds loud and crispy whether I'm playing Metallica or Jay-Z.

This car is truly my therapy. If Im having a bad day, I drop the top, turn up the stereo, feel the rumble of the motor, and all life's stresses are in the rear view

Well they actually ARE Brembo brakes so I see nothing wrong with the decal whatsoever. Looks great. Nice job! I have a black F12 M6 myself.

Upgrades

Delano I love it. Personal touches but not over the top (although the stereo upgrades are!). I used to build systems like this in college for competition many years ago. Love the choice of focals. I am glad there are still people who enjoy this. For me I lease the car and what a pain it would be to strip all the hardware later. Even the tinted tailights look good on this car. Enjoy it everyday

Yeah Ive got the stereo bug for sure, its all part of the driving experience to me. I lease too, this is actually the 3rd car Ive had most of this equipment in (thought I wasn't going to need it with the B&O but that was just wishful thinking lol). The great thing about buying quality equipment is it holds up and you can swap it out with different cars, its like a gift that keeps giving

Yea my feelings exactly. Going to do a high end Mcintosh/Focal system at home and I spent almost $30k in upgrades on the M6 as well in performance and wheels.

Yeah you two have taken these cars to the next level!

All this reading about mods got me motivated to build a new sandcar so that's slowed my roll on the M6 for awhile, we've got sand dunes out here and the toys you can build for them are wicked fun. I'm building a buggy that's 1100 HP, 24 inches of travel, and weighs less than 2800 lbs!
