I was introduced to the Holden Maloo on a trip to Australia several years ago. I wanted GM to bring that concept to the U.S., and we were right there with the Pontiac version right up until GM tossed Pontiac overboard. It is/was the same chassis as the "new" GTO at the time.

10 Years? I think its kind of already happening, the market for these cars just keeps going up up, its getting hard to find a clean one even now, definitely will only get harder and more expensive as the years go on.

The styling is controversial but its a NA V10 in a BMW coupe!
I never could get into the E63/4's looks, although I do prefer the vert. I always loved the E60's looks though despite being controversial. I just think finding a V10 in a sedan versus a coupe just draws in more excitement due to rarity of that package, although V10 coupes are also rare, but there's a more broad choice of them, albeit typically more exotic than "mainstream" luxury.

Looking forward to C8 Z06 but it will still have crappy GM build quality.
If I wanted interior quality I'd be going with Audi. I'm all about the V8 thunder, and fast lap times. I have other cars for civility and refinement. Latest of which is a GLC300 4matic. Hard to deny the Camaro punches above it's weight when it comes to lap times though. And reliably so.

I had a 2014 GT Track Pack, which I went down the rabbit whole of modding for track days. Car was great, I loved the way the Coyote revved out. But any time I came across a similar vintage SS 1LE, it was clear the other car was faster. Not always in corners ... but the credit for that goes to the suspension mods, and I'd like to take some too.

May I ask why the disdain for Chevy?

I agree. I know the used market for pretty much anything fun has been pretty absurd since the beginning of Covid, but I'm wondering if the prices will ever fall significantly. My buddy keeps looking to get another S2k after he sold his AP1, but is refusing to pay high teens for a good one because his first one was like $12k. I think those days are gone, and that's very true for these NA M cars.

At this point, these cars are let's say luxury/toys. Not many are buying them because they need one to commute.

1) I think the Mustang looks far, far better. Tail end is a bit long and wide but the front is superb, really muscular and with right grille and front lip it look the business. Camaro looks a bit ....i dunno ... needs a total change to me.

2) As EV gain some ground and everything else is 2T, revs are more important than power to me for street use and the Coyote likes a few revs, let alone the Voodoo. The Camaro is very bottom endish.

3) sat in a camaro and dead set couldn't see out of the bastard

As I type this I have been shopping for a NA toy car (vert) for 2 years and keep flip flopping between a daily PP2 stang with some visual mods to make it look meaner or a well used 911.

I would kill for a GT350 convertible. Hearing that Voodoo V8 with the top down would be pure motoring bliss.

Oh it'd be in the garage already. Issue with the regular PP2 stang convertible is a) hard to find and b) still needs a lot of aesthetic work done to make it look meaner. So you start saying to yourself, fuck it, just get a base 2015 GT for sweet bugger all and mod it yourself, tastefully but for say $10K you could do a lot of suspension and aesthetic work.

Yeah, good points, all of them. I saw your reply as I was researching ported heads, Cam, and other mods to shift the LT1 6500 RPM redline to 7200. 5600 is a bit low to make peak power in my opinion as well. But there is plenty of aftermarket support, so that's another plus. The stock rev limit on my Gen1 Coyote was 6800, which I quikly raised to 7200 rpm. Way better. It sounded happy.

I faced the same choice in 2013 between the Camaro and the Mustang. I went with Mustang because the Gen5 Camaro was even more atrocious looking. Now I'm ready to try the other choice, as I've never been a fan of the S550 looks.

And I hear a lot of people complain about visibility, but I've driven a few flavors of the Gen 6 Camaro, and it didn't strike me as a limiting factor. Of course when I scrape the wheels parking it, I will complaint then I'm sure.

The thing with American product is the monumental after market at reasonable prices. Throw 10 or even 15K , tastefully, at a 2015 GT you buy for say 35K here, for 50K you should have a really good looking, good sounding, decent handling and hard running vehicle you need to pay twice as much with a euro badge.

My thoughts exactly, and why I'm not keen on another M product. It would take a lot of money to fix that grill/hood

the v8 is the whole reason i'm selling the roadie and going for an E93 M3. It'll still be slower than my F97 and i don't care

I'd love to get another E90 M (maybe E92?). Just something radical about the ride. I think back to Petit Le Mans a few years back when I couldn't help myself to rev it to the moon in the tunnel under 10a. Might have been a dick move with people walking in the tunnel, but they were smiling even with the blood rolling out their ears.

What's wild is I bought a 2011.75 total stripper spec (6MT, slicktop, no nav, Speed Cloth...only option was "smokers package" that got an additional 12V) with about 45k miles on it I think for ~$31k? That spec now is probably $50k+. Oh how I wish I still had it...

I just moved on from the e92 M3 6 speed manual to a GT350 as a “final v8 car”.

The e92 has a bit better steering feel, might rev ever so slightly faster, and has a better quality interior, but the GT350 is on another level of capability and experience. I feel that it is just a far more special car and experience while still being under the radar.

The suspension, chassis, brakes, transmission and torque are all miles better. Additionally, if you opt for the Recaro seats, the seats and driving position are also far better than the M3.

It takes corners at a faster pace with greater confidence. You do feel the additional weight, but only in certain instances and less than I imagined. That said, the car feels very well balanced. I am already signed up for a few track days and looking forward to experiencing it on track.

If you are contemplating a GT350, I highly recommend it.

I already did.... R8 V8 Spyder with a manual. It's the best. Nothing like it. Not the quickest but so much spunk. Revving the piss out of it to 8500 RPM with an aftermarket exhaust is amazing. Owned it for 9 years and keeping it until it blows up or gets wrecked. And I'm not even into V8s all that much. Single turbo inline 6 is my favorite configuration.

Strongly considering an IS500 on the side though.

My neighbor owns an AMG GT-C. It's a fun missile, but character is pretty "meh". Generic and not representative of the greatest exhaust notes V8s have to offer. Kinda sounds like a muffled chainsaw. Hard to deny the performance, but honestly I wouldn't take it over my R8. Sure is a rush though.

I have a 2013 E93, which I bought in 2017. It's a keeper. Never selling it. It's a blast!
