Bluetooth iPhone Stopped Working

While all worked well last week and my iPhone 7 was paired, for some reason my Bluetooth turned itself off and I can't seem to get it back on. Spent more than a few hours discussing with the BMW "Genius" reps to no avail.

I've tried to reconnect dozens and dozens of times. Here's what happens: I get to Bluetooth and there's obviously a white screen with a check box next to "Bluetooth Communication Active" but I can't get the controller to check it. Message below that box states, " Bluetooth is off. Please switch on Bluetooth to pair a new phone..." Again, I can't get the box to check.

Any help would be much appreciated...this is NUTZ, especially since the phone was paired and working fine last week!
