"Open Door" Beep When Locking?

Over the last week, I've noticed that upon locking/unlocking via my remote, the normal beep sounds different - which I assume(d) was because of door/trunk/hood being ajar. Because nothing is ajar and everything is closed perfectly fine, might it be a sensor that's gone bad? My e39 m5 suffered from hood latch/sensor issues that have caused similar problems; might it be something like that?

Update: while smoking, my trunk opened on its own. It was 100% definitely closed. I've checked everything several times and nothing was open when I heard the weird beep...

Just closed the ghost-trunk...and the regular beep is back. wtf.
