difference between 2015 LCI and 2016+ LCD Screens

Is there any? The part numbers are different and there is now backwards compatibility according to realOEM.
I understand this is probably related to APIX1 vs APIX 2 voltage but is there a difference in specs, i.e. resolution, contrast, etc

I have no expertise or experience here, but I have had a tab open with this post for close to a year now. I've been meaning to at some point look into doing this swap but haven't made any progress. The post may be some help to you though.
