Drive Cycle

Appreciate any helpful tips you may provide. Thanks

California allows for 1 in not ready status, but it's limited to the EVAP & in my case it's the dreaded CAT that is not ready.

Stock downpipe reinstalled, loaded Stage 1 tune (Evolve) w/ cold start delete, cleared all error codes via ISTA, performed Drive Cycle & all are in a Ready status except the CAT

I have now completed the CAT specific Drive Cycle 5 times
1. Drove for 15 minutes & once for 20 minutes
2. Accelerated & kept speed between 48 - 55 MPH
3. RPM never reached 3000 RPM
4. Kept it in 4th gear though I don't think it matters on the which gear
5. Gas between 1/4 - 3/4 tank full

Since the stock DP was installed, I've added 143 miles
Roughly 80 miles of that is the CAT specific Drive Cycle

Curious to know if anyone else struggled with getting the CAT ready.
How many CAT specific Drive Cycle did it take?
SMOG technician told me to simply add more mileage

I've only performed the DC once before on an E60 M5 & managed to get the CAT to go in Ready status within 7 minutes on the 1st try.
Loaded Stage 1 tune (Evolve) with cold start delete which is exactly my current setup

Back when I had a bad set of ecus I drove 1000 miles and cat 02 sensor never reset . Maybe it was the bad dme. Maybe it was pulling the battery and hard resetting. But I feel your pain ! good luck, just keep driving. Cruise control 65 mph on the highway and don't go over 3k rpm it's hard, wasted a lot of time at 2am driving like a grandma ha

Is there a reason you don't just load the stock tune on there and try that?

I would have to say I think your tune may be at fault here. part of the Cat test is to run measure efficiency during cold start. with cold start off it will never be ready.

Thanks. It is tough to drive below the speed limit. I use a Toll Road, less vehicles, no cops, better road condition, basically straight for 15 miles perfect for testing top speeds. I will be on that road by 4A tomorrow to do it all over again. If everything works out, my drive back will be fun!

No reason other than its stock. Didn't want to lose 100HP or so but it's temporary so in the end it was the right decision to load the stock tune. Thanks

At this point, I will have to agree w/ you. After 211 miles, the CAT was still not ready.
Loaded the stock tune, cleared all error codes & started it up. I was reminded I have the exhaust valves stuck wide open.
Drove to the gas station to ensure I have 3/4 tank & on my way back home, the CAT went to ready status
I just need to complete the other 2 Drive Cycles to get the O2, Fuel & EVAP to the Ready status.

Thanks!!
