Any one having issues with their seat bottom moving when cornering? Is there a fix?

I wonder the same thing . This is my 4th Bmw and it's sad to say I've always experienced petty shit like this that's needs to be fixed . I'm actually going back again cause they fixed the problem 2 weeks ago by replacing parts and now I'm guessing I have to tell them to replace the whole frame . More time out of my work day and another loaner .

Shit is so stupid on a 90k car

DRock...you must have missed the last few posts in the thread Walt linked us to. There was an easy fix (lubrication of some bushings) that turned out to be the answer. Sometimes the ENTIRE thread needs to be read in case something new or better is brought to light.

Consider me a skeptic that lubrication can fix a mechanical problem.

Sometimes the darndest things happen inexplicably. Here's a quote from an f06 owner (Carfanatic) over on Bimfest's f06 forum that says lubricating the bushing below his driver's seat fixed the issue for him. The post is from the end of Nov/2018...perhaps contact him to see if the issue returned or is still working.

Here's a direct link to the entire thread: https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sh....php?t=1298627

When you look at the bushing under the front seats (This is done by moving the seat to the far back as possible and then raising the seat high to the max) then tilt your head down and look straight up towards the front edge of the seat)

if you pay close attention the bushing is of s Plastic nature , so lithium contains properties that breakdown plastic over time.

Therefore i went with a Teflon based grease, it performs well in low or high temperatures , is generally used in load bearing situations.

Place a micro-fiber to cover electronics and carpet, then spray liberally "use the straw provided with the canister" make sure you get the inside of the bushing and outside edges.

Let the car sit for a while so the grease really soaks in , then try it out.

Tested my 6 GC 15' right now and no movement no squeaks . I use to get movement by making even the slightest turn , really uncomfortable .

I just wanted to thank everyone on the F12 forums for info and help. @640jims and Allan Thompson

Feel free to reach out if any of you need some help with this issue. Hopefully we get more members on the F06 forums so its more active.

Did the same. Lubricated both sides with WD40 PTFE dry lube and problem went away.

Reviving this thread because I have the dreaded loose seat, which is starting to really bug me when cornering. Of course, out of warranty and no way going to spend money on a new seat frame or pan.

I previously tried the lubricant method by spraying WD-40 into the bushings and it helped (by silencing but not stopping the movement) in the beginning, but it's back after a few months.

Took a video last night of the problem. Someone on bimmerfest suggested wedging an L bracket between the bushing and the flared part of the rod to stop the movement, I wonder if anyone else has had and fixed this issue? Do they sell new bushings somewhere?

I am having this issue now as well. I think i may just drill through and put in a screw to stop the movement. Dont think that would effect the seat in anyway. I'll report back.

A+ with the dry lube. The light spray lasted over a year before spraying the bushings(pictured above) again. Best $5.78 spent at the Home Creepot. Plastic on metal is inevitably vulnerable to excess movement.

A screw in the gap into the rod? You don't think the screw head will get caught in the bushing when you move the seat up or down?
