A few observations:

:
-Love the styling. This is the most gorgeous non-exotic car you can buy.

-Like a Panamera, it drives much smaller than it's true wheelbase length and weight.

-I love the entire driving experience. When I drive it 2/10ths, it's really soft like driving a X5. In all other modes, it's got that 911 Turbo theatre-type experience. The turbo hisses, the exhaust pops, the Akra's growl, the high revving howl. It's all there in 1 package.

-Connected Drive app is cool.

- I absolutely love ventilated seats. It's a must. I tend to get hot driving, even in the winter.

- I tried my best to buy a car with 433 or 601 wheels. I hated the 343s. Now the 343s have really grown on me. It's really easy to clean, and I love the finish on it, whereas the 433 and 601 looks kind of chrome-y.

- I actually like the OEM chrome grills and gills. On a white and silver car, they contrast very well. I actually will keep them on until a decent used set goes on sale here.

- If the leather chosen is not black, the headliner color is a contrasting color. Very cool.

:

- Absolutely no way to default the drive settings away from factory. (EDC/throttle/steering/DSC/DCT) Now I know why they gave you 2 M buttons.

- RTTI is no longer a free. After 3 years, it's now a $50/year subscription. If you want BMW Online and other stuff it can be $150 more.

- I will never be able to fit any public parking spot in my town ever again.

I was half debating whether I should have just waited, go down to Dallas to watch Ohio State kick some ass in the Cotton Bowl, and then drive it home.

Is this standard or there's an option for leather dash?

It's the full merino leather option.

Volleder instead of leder

Ahhh, I didn't even even notice. The base is "extended", but "full" adds leather to the dash and contrasting leather to the glove box, door panel, center console, and the headliner. There's also stitching added.

Obviously, when I was shopping I didn't put too much thought into this aspect. Most cars had black leather so it was hard to parse out the difference. I thought mine looked a bit different from what I've seen online.

I went online to configure one and full merino was a $3500 option, yikes, not sure if I would have ordered it for this price, but it definitely puts a exotic flair to the car.

15 years ago only Ferraris and Porsches commonly had leather dashes

This is optional; part of the full merino leather option. Should be standard in a car of this class and price range IMO.

The Individual Full Merino leather option adds contrast stitching to the dash and door panels vs black stitching on the Standard Full Merino leather.

thanks for the pics. Yeah that contrast stitching just looks boss. IMO, the black stitching doesn't look too bad either. If you have an eye for these things, you'll notice them right away.

For people who don't give a shit, even contrast stitching won't stand out to them.

I think I'll wait for the tune. I still feel intimidated driving the car after a week. Maybe a year down the line. I'll likely do the Dinan tune to retain warranty. I also heard Dinan tunes will sell at a slight premium when you sell the car, so you get some of the money back. Right now, the Dinan tune is $3800...yikes.

Hopefully they do the 50% off tunes for F-chassis cars in the next few years, then I'll be on that like a meth head on meth.

Correct me if I am wrong, but from my understanding Dinan tunes void warranty, but Dinan has their own warranty that spans the original factory 4 year warranty. For example, if you have a blown turbo due to increased boost under a Dinan tune, BMW will not cover it. Instead Dinan will. However, I believe this does not go past 4 years from the first in-service date.

It wasn't clear to me when I read the Dinan disclaimer. And they were hush on CPO coverage period.
