Checking for parasitic draw

Since I have been messing with my battery lately, I thought I would check for any parasitic draws if some module is not going to sleep etc. The standard method is to let the car go to sleep and then disconnect the negative battery cable and touch the leads of a multimeter set to read DC amps to the terminal and to the cable clamp. But no online videos actually apply to our cars or any F-Series car. It seems that the act of touching the multimeter leads to the terminal and cable wakes up something (4 clicks near the battery), and I get a 2 amp draw. I doubt I actually have a draw that big or my battery would be dead quickly. Anybody ever do it successfully?
