I like it! Adds a nice touch. Ever think about blacking out the wheels/emblem? I think it could clean up some color on your car. Although I do like the stock wheel color as well.

Painted my front calipers sublime green. Will get some nicer shots once I finish the rears. Needed to order a second can as these calipers are huge and I did not have enough left over for the rears.

Decided I wanted something completely different from the normal red/blue. Looking for some decals but not sure which to get. Not sure to even put decals on or not. Thoughts?

Looking good!

Decals would finish it off nicely. My opinion is go with a black M badge decal rather then white as the black would contrast better on lighter colours such as green and yellow etc.

They don't get stuck...they move a little but only when the rear wheels spin up. Normally I try to move on and off the stones slowly but sometimes the child in me comes out

These are 20mm ones mate.

That will look good, we had an Audi estate a few years ago and I painted the grill gloss black rather than change it and I thought it looked great

Hoping to have my kidney grills painted in the next week or 2 and I've a splitter and some skirts ordered. Watching yours progress has inspired me to get stuck in again lol

oil service done at dealer. however normally it says on the reciept which grade oil they used i even checked an oil receipt and it had 0w30 on it, but this time just had drum LL 04. was curious because on the castrol website oil finder no longer shows 0w30 for my car instead 5w30 m is the prefferered option now. i know bmw stopped using castrol but the oil grade changed as well?

Dealerships tend to use bulk drum oil. I stopped going after I saw that on my 'free' oil change they gave me way back. I only use Liqui Moly since.

I would presume the LL04 to indicate that they used the long-life 04 (LL04) oil. BMW moved on to Shell (Pennzoil in USA/Canada/North America) as their oil supplier...and I believe they have the contract up until sometime in 2022.

You can read about that at this link: https://www.shell.com/business-custo...-supplier.html

Also, there are multiple recommended oil viscosities for the N63/N63TU/N63TU2 engines which can be found on the TIS website: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f...enance/1PSryV8

At the link above to the oil chart...you’ll see that the n63 engine variants have an LL-01 and/or LL-04 recommendations. It appears from the chart (if you click on the enclosure 5 & enclosure 6...that the BMW branded LL-01 oil viscosity recommendation is a 0w30 and the BMW LL-04 oil viscosity recommendation is a 5w30 oil viscosity...and either one can be used. And the LL-04 (enclosure 6) also lists multiple brand name oils that range from 0w30/0w40/5w30/5w40

Hope this helps settle some of your questions/insecurities about the oil viscosity used.

EDIT 1:
Oh H3LL ...temporarily disregard what I wrote above...I just noticed that you have a 640d and you’re not in North America. We didn’t get that model here and I made incorrect assumptions. Sorry...I’ll recheck what I wrote in case there are differences.
EDIT 2:
It appears the N57 engine used in the 640d in Europe should refer to LL-04 enclosure 6 at the link to the TIS website...and if you click that link it reveals that the LL-04 BMW branded oil for Europe can either be 0w30 or 5w30. And if you scroll down, it also lists multiple recommended brand names and the oil viscosity BMW recommends for that brand oil.
