No Emergency Boot Release 2016 F06
Hi All,
I've taken my battery out for a refresh as it's been sitting for so long without a lot of use, and I was having lots of fun getting back into the boot. Went in through the split seats (I'm 6ft4 so that was fun) reached for the emergency boot release........... What emergency boot release?? The hole for the bowden cable is there, but no handle or anything else. Is this usual for the GC? I got in by connecting a spare battery to the jump terminals and using the fob, but just wondering if this is exclusion is standard?? Thanks Lee |

the handle might be hiding behind the cover or it may have snapped off. If you have to get to the battery to change it, do it from the engine compartment.

Perhaps not fitted to UK Versions
I'll take the panel off and have a look if the bowden cable is there.
Could just be something that's not fitted to UK Standard vehicles. |

If you have the trunk’s emergency triangle (the long rectangular thingy in the pic from the owners manual)…check to see if the release handle is stuck behind it.
Is the emergency release handle listed on your decoded VIN List? The option code for it is: 5DS Luggage-compartment Emerg. Release (aka S5DSA) If you're not familiar with any VIN decoding sites...here's 2...just enter your 17 digit VIN in the correct field. If you see a lot of SPAM advertisements...DO NOT enter your VIN in those adds...the decoding is free once you enter in the correct box and answer the CAPTCHA question/puzzle correctly:
