Retrofitting LCI mufflers on pre LCI 640i
Hello!
I’m planning on retrofitting lci mufflers on my pre LCI 640i. They changed it out with a more sporty exhaust, with a valve on the right side in 2015. But I see that the resonator on lci is different from pre lci. It looks to me that the resonator works like some sort of x-pipe on the lci. Because the exhaust gasses need a way to go when the right muffler valve is closed. Som my question is, will the mufflers work with my pre lci resonator as long as i keep the valve on the right side open? Here is a picture of the lci exhaust: https://www.6post.com/forums/attachm...1&d=1528191890 Here is the pre lci exhaust: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F143339684582 Last edited by Solli; 01-28-2020 at 09:09 AM.. |

I’m on a budget currently🤪 The used lci mufflers is a cheap alternative to other aftermarket mufflers. Ofc there is the muffler delete option, but im afraid of too much noise. And it is probably pretty expensive to get it done at a shop here in Norway.

well i can attest that the lci do sound good. and the valve opens when in sport/sportplus mode. or when when you floor it. so its quiet and the sporty at the push of a buton. alot of people tell me it sounds good and to me it does but when in the car is sounds a little quiet as my previous cars were loud. but when your outs side its the perfect sound. i will be going catless in a week so im curious on the sound difference with the lci muffler |

Hey guys,
im dealing with the same issue... the pre LCI base exhaust is not enough for me. Have you considered the Performance kit (18302354363)? its exactly for our situation. I know somebody here previously added it and was very happy but it costs approx 1400 USD. Let me know if you went with the regular LCI one and if it is better. |

looks like the MPE for the N55 6er is not Valvetronic. meaning the noise level will be constant
i like quiet when cruising and loud to have fun. im adding a catless down pipe this weekend and will make sure to get video to contribute but alot of people love the way the car sounds on the lci setup |

Hello guys! Ended up buying these: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F254490663409 Have them mounted on the car now, and i’m overall very pleased with them. Especially for the price😁 A bit of drone at low rpms, which i will look into, but not super annoying.
