Bootmod3 Version 2.0 - N63

Has anyone flashed to the new bootmod3 2.0? I am curious what tweaks they made and if it is worth the effort. I also definitely do not want to flash to the new version if it makes the exhaust sound like a machine gun.

The BM3 lets you custom the exhaust sound. I believe the updates target more like the boost and software aspect of it if I知 not mistaken.

Where can you customize that? The options I have in Map config are: Max cooling mode, cold start (cat heating), cold start RPM, pre-throttle TMAP sensor, Manifold TMAP sensor, Exhaust flap (sport), speed limiter (VMAX), Catalytic Monitors (CEL), and Boost by Gear (% reduction).

It's a non burble tune so no machine gun exhaust. I'm running it. It's got advanced ignition timing and better turbo output. It's definitely a power gain over version 4.0. You must have the older dme module as your map is 2.0 you mentioned. The newer dme is now version 5.0.

Flashed mine last night, rider seems a bit smoother and has more power or at least a smoother band.... Could be placebo though!

Ridiculously easy. I would recommend you drive the car for a bit to charge the battery up. Then pop the hood and use the terminals to hook up a decent battery charger. The first flash takes a little longer as it unlocks your dme and flashes the tune. If your car battery dies during the flash it's kinda a pain to reset it. After the first time it's very quick to flash tunes. Keep ignition on, keep the climate and radio off, close the door and buckle your seatbelt. Seatbelt on keeps the dme from falling asleep.

Maybe Im a risk taker but I dont bother hooking it up electrically or anything. Lights, radio, ac, etc off and thats about it. Flash takes no time at all so Im never worried - especially with that RV battery in the trunk.

Looks like you posted a few days ago, how did it go and what do you think?

Went well! I wasn稚 prepared for all the warnings to pop up during it so that made me a little nervous but I just assumed it was part of the process. It was my first time and I致e heard subsequent flashes go quicker.

I like it a lot. It痴 still docile in non-Sport, around town driving, but when it痴 in Sport or the boost has built up, its like a rocket. I smile every time I pin it.

Just realized you池e also in Colorado.

Seen many cars die mid flash on the first unlock. You'd be surprised how much power dme writing takes.

Yeah I’m definitely not loving my Boodmod3 anymore right now. Last night hit the gas on the highway and got drivetrain malfunction, flashing check engine light, car barely made it home and it’s still the same today. I have a “super knock” code showing in the Bootmod3 information. Wishing I hadn’t installed this tune now, the car was running great on a practically rebuilt motor before this.

What codes did you throw? To completely blame bm3 is not fair. Post all the codes for your drivetrain malfunction. There are literally 10000s of cars on bm3.

What? You don't need to change any internals to run bm3, even in stage 2. It's already been proven the n63tu and the s63tu (m car) rods are the same. There are tons of guys, including me, running 600+ hp with stock internals.

This is a sample as there were so many (some repeats), and I couldn’t scroll down on them in the browser for some reason. All injectors replaced by dealer in November.

First question is always when we're your plugs and/or coils replaced? Bm3 tends to find misfires very quick on older plugs especially.
