Try searching for a DIY on the TIS website...type in the last 7 digits of your VIN...then type something appropriate into the search box. It may take a couple of tries because I'm not sure BMW refers to them as "skirts". Perhaps if you look them up on one of the part database sites...you may bet a better clue of what to call them when searching.
EDIT: found it using my f06 GC's VIN then typed "remove door sill" in the search box. The instructions have a link (for removal) that takes you to the F30/F31/F35...look under REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS...apparently the attachment procedure is the same. Click link below: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/f...f35/1VnXvqVkcd And if you pull up the diagram...it appears that the door sill panel is secured to the vehicle by a couple of expanding rivets (#4 in the diagram):

As far as I know, they are also glued. You have to remove the doors as well. I removed mine and fitted Hamann side skirts.

Recently I removed mine for repainting & film wrapping using instructions found in TIS. No glue involved. Door entrance strips have to be removed first - just be careful to not break the LED wires.

Curious - how much are you paying for a re-spray of the Rocker Panel or are you DIYing?
I ask because I recently purchased a vehicle with a significantly damaged rocker (M Sport version). I have sourced a used replacement that is in good shape but is the wrong color so it needs to be re-painted to match. First and only body shop quoted me over $450 to prep and paint (I will install) which seems excessive. |

Thanks I have visited a couple body shops and bumper repair places and I am getting quotes at roughly $300 US just to prep my side skirt (few minor repairs and sand) and spray the new paint. More than I expected but seems to be the going rate - even MAACO came in right at $300.
Not sure what you mean by removing the doors - I expect that the side skirt will be painted off the car and it can be removed in just a few minutes. In fact the quotes I received was was me delivering the side skirt off the vehicle and I would replace it back on the vehicle. |

Why removing the doors?
Side skirts are just fix with 5,6 screws no? I talk about the side skirts and not the door entrance strips. I don't understand why you talk about to remove doors |

The reason for waiting until the module goes to sleep is so that you don't generate unnecessary codes that will have to be cleared. If you can clear the codes (I'm not talking about using a basic scan tool that only accesses the PCM), then you have do this with the key in the car, radio running, vehicle running if you want. As for why the doors have to removed - The skirts are tucked behind the door. You'll understand better when you try to remove them. They can be removed without removing the doors, but not without severely scratching and gouging them. |

The door sill cover strips overlap the upper edges of the side skirts and must be removed first. Just be careful with the wiring...

Thks but I really don't know what I have to remove to pop out the side skirts for a f13?
Really need to remove sill plates? Or just screws on the bottom of the side skirts? On series 3 f30 there are only any screws under the side skirts |

My side skirts are sand blasted because of road debris. Also the rear bumper has some damage.
I plan on deliver my car to a quick repair workshop that paints the parts without removing the side skirts or bumper. After that i will attach clear paint protection film to protect it from road debris. |

I just went through this with my 2013 F13 Coupe with M Sport rocker panels that I recently purchased.
My rocker panel was severely damaged with a fairly large size gash when I purchased. I did not think the rocker panel was repairable so I purchased a used one off of ebay for roughly $200 (would have been roughly $375 new for OEM). My used version was a different color so it needed to be sanded with a couple of blemishes repaired and painted the same color as mine. For those interested, I paid roughly $300 for this effort. To take the rocker panel off I did need to remove the sill plate to reveal several plastic connectors (seems like 4 or 5) that attach the rocker to the door frame area. I also removed the door rubber molding and the other plastic trim (may not needed to actually do this) to give me sufficient access. After removing the plastic connectors from under the door sill plate its just the plastic connectors from underneath the car and then the rocker panel just pops out. Took me about 20 minutes to take the old one off and put the other one back on. |
