Backup Camera Won't Open

Is this a common occurrence? It was working fine one day, and stopped working (opening) the next. I'm assuming the motor simply went bad? The camera itself still works fine but the image on the screen is simply dark because the emblem doesn't open allowing the camera to see outside.

this is common, mine doesnt close sometimes

Mine would flip open, then close, then try to flip open, then just give up. It acts as if it catches something as it's opening. Took it in, dealer diagnosed it to a failing mechanism. They ordered new mechanism and new badge. Works perfect now.

I went to check again and I can hear the motor trying but the camera simply doesn't open. I guess the motor died and simply needs to be replaced. Ah well, thanks for the input!
