Can this piece be replaced/removed? Name?

i removed my tints 3 months ago, and spilled a little goo gone on this leather piece under the window.

initially it was just glossy, then over the past few months i noticed some bubbling of the leather, and now this is what it looks like.

can this piece be removed? replaced? fixed? anyone know the name of it?

I have bad news. This is part of the hole door-trim.
Only the part is ~1500 to 2000$

eBay may be an option, for example here and here

Still not cheap but will be less than a brand new interior panel. You can look at cars being broken for parts and try your luck.

Alternatively, no harm getting a couple of quotes from upholstery specialists to get an idea of pricing.

That pebble grain is not what most of our cars have - most are pretty smooth. So a wrecking yard part with that orange insert will be impossible to find. I think re-upholstery of just that upper section will be very difficult as the entire skin is glued on after it is sewn together, but it's worth asking a good upholstery shop. I think the first thing to try is to peel back just the part where the Goo Gone ate the adhesive and try to just re-glue the edge.

Not sure if you are still under warranty. If so, just play dumb and say, "Look at my leather, its bubbling."

I’m usually pretty pedantic about stuff like this but in this case I’m struggling to see what the big deal is.? It’s odd you have Dakota leather there most of us have nappa there but perhaps in this instance it is good you do so it can mask the small bubbling rippling that appears to have occurred. Frankly is minute and I really had to stare at the pics to notice what you were referring too. Had you not said anything I doubt anyone would notice.
As others have said I’d leave it alone.

Not sure if there's a fix or not - but as a few others pointed out, I'm confused why it's not Nappa leather on the door top. Is this something with the M6? Can't see why they made the middle of the card from Nappa (normal) but the top from Dakota in this instance?

Not sure if this would work but maybe a hairdryer to add a little heat and some kind of roller may make it reattach?

alright guys so i took it to 3 different upholstery guys

first guy said he wont try to fix it because he might make it worse, but he said that the goo gone seperated the vinyl/leather from the glue

second guy said the goo gone absorbed into the foam under the vinyl/leather and made it swell up, he will charge $250 but he would rather not do it

third guy said the same as second guy, but said if i take off the door panel and take it to him he will try to fix it for $150.

I think it's probably a combination of dissolving the adhesive and swelling the foam. Goo Gone in a confined space like that will turn an adhesive into, well - goo. So are you going to let them try?

BMW door panels are fairly easy to remove as door panels go. The hardest part really is unplugging the wire connectors while you awkwardly hold the panel. Best if you have a second person hold it up whole you unplug everything. Or you could pay some auto trim shop or even mechanic to pull it for you. It would take them 5-10 minutes.
