Competition Pack Feedback
I am looking at a GC with comp pack. Wondering if it feels noticeably different. Particularly the following:
1) I'm assuming you can't really feel the 15hp can you? Also if you flash both sport and non sport would end up the same hp? 2) Does it turn-in and steer more sharply with less body roll? 3) Is the suspension intrusively firm - as in out of character for the car? Or can it be just as soft as regular but can also get much more firm. It starts 10mm lower than stock but seems like it can still use some H&R's. Will a comp pack with H&R's end up lower than a non-comp with H&R's? 4) Does the sport exhaust system sound good enough to not warrant an aftermarket or bypass? 5) Lastly the 7 spoke wheels are supposedly lighter. They look a little boring. Has anyone polished out the spoke windows so they are fully polished, or had them powder coated some color and added spacers? Trying to see whether I would even consider not changing them.

Read this:.
http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=873975 1. The HP is only on the top of rev range. None of it is of any use in daily driving. The flashes all increase HP across the entire rev range , which makes it more noticeable. 2. Yes, but only if you drive the cars back to back 3. No, not noticable. Yes lowering springs will lower and firm suspension travel even more. I don't recommend it. 4. Check YouTube 5. Actually, the 343 wheels are the lightest wheels. They're forged. The 601 wheels are heavier as they are cast. The 443 is the heaviest. Lastly, the most noticable difference with competition package will be the steering. It's quicker/tighter. Second most noticable will be exhaust.

1) Honestly the car has enough power as it is! The hardware is all the same though so a flash will be the same for either version. There has been a bit of a chat in a few threads about the 600ps cars having less power in the 6750rpm to 7250rpm area when compared to the 575ps cars, but it still doesn't really matter, power isn't why you want CP.
2) I've driven an M5 non-CP back to back with an M6 Coupe CP (my one!) on the track and the difference was huge. Note that the Coupe has a 113mm shorter wheelbase and is about 50kg lighter as well as having the lower centre of gravity so it is hard to say what parts were the most important. I've driven an M6 Coupe non-CP and it still felt great. These two videos might help but they aren't a direct comparison. 3) the stock suspension in comfort is absolutely fine for cruising. Sport makes it slightly annoying and sport plus is very annoying. I am investigating the Dinan anti-roll bars though. Also only M5's were 10mm lower with CP, the M6's were the same height. 4) Compared to my C63 6.3, the sound is OK at idle but way too quiet when revving. It is spookily fast for such a quiet car and I can't quite adjust yet (I've had my car since Friday) 5) yes the 343M are the lightest. I once-upon-a-time saw 601M (the 7 spoke CP wheel) with the face left as it is in polished chrome but the rest in black and it looked quite decent. |

Nobody knows why they did that. You can check it out on realoem by going to all of the wheels and looking at their weights.

On the E9X M3, the 359m 19 inch wheels were heavier than the 18 inch 219m wheels, I want to say they were slightly heavier than the 19 inch 220m wheels as well. On the E46 M3, I'm going to guess the ZCP wheels are at least heavier than the 18 inch OEM wheel. On the M3, the ZCP wheels were at least wider so you can accommodate a +1 or +2 size tire. On the M6...they're all the same width for all wheel styles. So at this point, if you really cared about weight, the 343s are the best option. But then again, you're driving a 4400 lb boat. Really, just pick the wheel you prefer from a cosmetic standpoint first, and keep in mind, 343 is the most common wheel sold on the forums here, so don't be upset getting a car with the other wheels. I have a behavioral theory on why 343s are so common, but it's just a theory.

With these expensive cars that are leased, people tend to want to check every option box available.
On the build pages, the 443 is the default wheel for the M6, the 601 is the default for the ZCP check box. But as you build, you're allowed to check 343s at 2 pages, the wheels page (page 2) and on the packages page after you check ZCP. People see it as a no cost option on the screen, so it's easy to assume it's an "upgrade". So many people did it that 443 and 601 are actually more rare, even as the default wheel.

I’ve rode in a non CP M compared to my CP M and let me tell you the ride is way stiffer and more rough compared to cars with CP. when I went with a bigger diameter wheel setup the ride smoothened out a bit. If you’ve never had a chance to drive both back to back you’ll never notice the difference but I’d reccomend it strictly for the steering
