BIMMERPOST NEWS BMW 6-Series Coupe M-Sport / 640d / 640i / 650i xDrive Break Cover The BMW 6 Series coupe will be available at dealerships later this fall, and now BMW has taken the wraps off the entire engine and model range of the 6-Series Coupe. And it looks like they are giving the 6-Series the star treatment with availability of a diesel variant (640d), an xDrive variant (650i) and of course M-Sport and Individual vehicles. The new xDrive system will only be available on the 650i, but as was reported earlier a 6-cylinder 640i is now available, which should make the 6-Series more attainable. BMW 640i Coupe six-cylinder in-line petrol engine, BMW TwinPower Turbo technology with twin-scroll turbochargers, high-precision direct injection and VALVETRONIC, displacement: 2,979 cc, output: 235 kW/320 hp at 5,800 to 6,000 rpm, max. torque: 450 Nm at 1,300 to 4,500 rpm, acceleration [0 – 100 km/h]: 5.4 seconds, top speed: 250 km/h, average fuel consumption*: 7.6 – 7.8 litres/100 kilometres, CO2 emissions*: 177 – 181 g/km, exhaust standard: EU5. BMW 640d Coupe six-cylinder in-line diesel engine, BMW TwinPower Turbo technology with multi-stage turbocharger and Common Rail direct injection, displacement: 2,993 cc, output: 230 kW/313 hp at 4,400 rpm, max. torque: 630 Nm at 1,500 – 2,500 rpm, acceleration [0 – 100 km/h]: 5.5 seconds, top speed: 250 km/h, average fuel consumption*: 5.4 – 5.5 litres/100 kilometres, CO2 emissions*: 143 – 145 g/km, exhaust standard: EU5. Absolutely beautiful car -- but you know, there's still something about that 2010 and before "shark" design that still looks wonderful and timeless. Really diggin' the console area.

Enough with making an Xdrive variant for everything. If you're such a pansy, don't buy a $100k GT car!

Not sure about those lower LED strips.. but the Msport looks great. That front 1/4 shot is the first picture of the new 6er that I actually like.

I absolutely love the back end. It somehow got rid of its dumb "cartoonish" expression.
And did anyone notice the headlights?! They have the same design as the Concept 6 Series Coupe, I wonder if we will see them on a production model!! Last edited by asdfx; 07-01-2011 at 03:02 AM.. |

If you remove the LED foglights , turn the central intake upside down , with the lower edge more rounded in the typical M format . Bar a few slight detail changes you have the face of the new M6.
