That was easy. Passenger side same as driver. Power to pin 1 required.
Tomorrow will tackle rear seats. In the mean time please advise on what I need to code if anyone knows. |

Struggling for info on how to reset the restraint system. Have fault for both seats.
Edit. Ista d isn't clearing it because of the belt and retractor tensioner codes Last edited by ex46fanatic; 06-11-2021 at 03:47 PM.. |

Have installed e sys but not tested or connected yet - and got ista d to connect to the car using the new cable.
Left to do - clear restraint system faults, code/register stuff, proper wiring to pin 1 on seat connectors. Tomorrow rear seats will be done -should be a doddle. |

Went to independent dealer to clear restraint system faults. It wouldn't clear. (He had the ability to clear it).
Tomorrow swapping belt tensioners over from my old seats. Maybe airbags as well. And then will try clearing codes. Come to think of it i did feel the belt tensioners were positioned low when i was buckling up. Theyve probably deployed. Last edited by ex46fanatic; 06-09-2021 at 06:05 PM.. |

Got a few codes to clear. Seat belt tensioners were replaced. I have codes for retraction tensioners as well. Looks like I need to swap over that part as well.
I guess the seats were involved in an accident but side airbags did not deploy. Below is the code after I swapped driver side belt tensioner only. Am pleased these are the only codes I have ! All related to the new seats |

Removed retractor tensioners from both old seats. Wasn't very difficult.
Have to do other stuff now. Will get them fitted over the next few days Getting closer to a proper install! Also put in the proper BMW pins for pin 1 on seat connector. Will advise on part numbers for others who want to try this retrofit. Last edited by ex46fanatic; 06-11-2021 at 03:45 PM.. |

On a long drive back - driver seat heating stopped working, everything else powered... today was the first time i used it and i noticed it felt a bit too hot for the lowest setting.
Hope its not the element ! |

Heated seat part started working today... I won't be trying it again until the other codes are cleared. I suspect high resistance in retractor tensioner is sending more amps to other areas. Don't know.
At least it's not the element. |

If by "bracket" you mean what is called the seat rail - the steel tracks that bolt to the floor, then yes, they are the same. I just looked it up for my F12 and it shows as being the same part number in all three variants.

Hey, I've got F13 seats out of the 2015 650i. I'm trying to fit them into Sprinter. Yes before you scream at me please help
I get it that we have two reds (+) and two browns (-). For some reason, the seat is not reacting and only randomly "wakes up" for a minute. I do believe it's related to CANBUS that I don't have it. Has anyone tried to bypass it? Anyone can help me find the right diagram so I know what needs to be powered so they can work? P.S. For later I'm also planning to get heated/cooled features to work. Probably by using direct power. Any diagram help would be much appreciated. |

How to connect the seats to an external 12v source to use in a racing car simulator
Quote:
I'm new here on the forum. Thank you all in advance for your help. Last week I bought a set of seats exactly the same as those in this thread. However, I intend to install it in my virtual simulator cockpit. I intend to replace my current seat with this one that is absolutely more comfortable. I wonder if it would be possible to install the seats externally using a 12 volt source? Could anyone tell me how I should make the connections to get the electrical controls working, as I'm afraid of doing something really stupid? From what I saw here, it will be necessary to connect three wires for the electrical controls to work, right? Would anyone have an image to tell me which wires to connect? What commands will I not have when connecting externally? Below are photos of the benches purchased. Thank you all in advance. |
