HI 6ers, I had a problem with tpms, I replaced my RDC receiver and my 2 rear sensors. The system now show active but my rear tire pressure is inaccurate, they're reading 27.2 and 28.3 respectively. I released the air from both rear tires and refilled them to 41.5 with my portable air compresser, it started off at 0 PSI and automatically stopped 41.5 as thats what's I had it set to. I reset the tpms from idrive and went for a drive and the system reset back to the wrong PSI see attached image. Any clues as to why the PSI is so far off?

Probably not the issue, but I would at least double-check the pressure with a decent tire gauge.

hi.
your issue is with the two new sensors you fitted in the rear wheels..the original two front sensors seem to be reading fine. is it possible the two new rear sensors are faulty or the wrong part number? there are several different sensors for tpms.. the other thing i noticed is your i drive is showing tyre temperatures too,in the uk we only get tyre pressure and to get the temperature we have to have it coded in..im not sure if that is the same where you are. are the original sensors genuine bmw and the two new ones aftermarket? also is it possible the front two sensors are reading PSI but the two new rear sensors are not reading PSI but a different scale? its not BAR but could be something else. |
