Extended Warranty and Timing Case Cover Gasket Repair

Dealer discovered oil leak from timing case cover. Engine was removed and besides timing case cover, they removed cylinder heads and replaced both gaskets ($316), plus all 8 RP Injectors ($281 each), Turbo Coolant Line Repair Kit ($47.80); 2 AIR INTAKE TUBES $(136.90 each); 10 quarts of oil (9.40 each); Oil Filter ($26); 4 quarts coolant ($9 each)

Parts alone are over $3,000

Labor is unknown.

All for $50.00 under extended warranty. Well worth the $5200 it cost.

Nice - the tendency for BMW dealers to replace anything remotely connected to an issue certainly does work in your favor with an extended warranty.

does the extended warranty have to be paid in full at point of purchase? Heard somewhere that you can make payments.
