M6 GC or R8
This is probably the most stupid comparison, but after +2 years with the M6 I can’t get the R8 out of my mind. Thinking about the last 2 years, there has been one occasion where I had someone sitting on the rear seat (pick-up from the airport, they could have taken a taxi), and one road trip with wife and golf clubs - hmm, that’s a tougher one...
The R8 I’m looking at is the RWS version. Am I crazy to even consider? This is my only car... |

I was actually stuck between the M6 GC and R8 for my next car choice, decided to trade my 650 in for a 2018 M6 GC with 13K KM (picking it up next week)
R8 is fun as heck but definitely not as practical haha, if M6 is your only car, I'd say you're in a fine place! but if your heart screams for the R8, cant go wrong, just forget about practicality |

What about an F12? Still front engined and has a reasonable sized boot, plus you get a V12

From the UK it seems F12s are about 150k pounds with 812s about 250k, but your import rules are still designed to protect local manufacturing....which hasn't existed for 4 years now! We can freely import just about whatever we want here. AU$380k for the cheapest F12 and $600k for the cheapest 812 on Carsales....not cheap. Actually what about this? https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/det...18326965/?Cr=0

With all honesty, I think this is still $50k min over my budget, and wouldn’t want to see the service bills... But a tempting idea... |

I had this decision a few years ago, right before the r8 prices started to increase a bit. I feel like I made a mistake and bought an M6 GC. Dont get me wrong, I enjoy it.
I drove a v8 R8 and was not impressed. felt the interior was outdated and the car was slow. Ended up with the M6, but now after driving a v10 I regret my decision. But the M6 has been good to me so far, and very enjoyable car. |

I’m trying to get different perspectives as the R8 is a car that is incredibly easy to fall in love with... |
