Agreed, 81 is usually quiet. 95 though, north of Richmond, ugh.

4 days of nothing planned over July 4th, and I am going to love it! Maybe take in some fireworks, dinner out, lots of tequila, or bourbon, or both, etc.

I've also had bad luck in the Carolinas on I-95 in December around the holidays, one time spending 17 hours stuck in multiple traffic jams for what should have been 6 hours of driving.

For my December holiday trips down south these days, we take I-81/I-77/I-26/I-95 if the winter weather looks good along I-81. If not, I am really liking the bay bridge/tunnels along the coast, and then onto I-95 at the VA/NC border for the rest of the trip. No way would I ever want to drive the DelMarVa and Virginia Beach/Norfolk during the beach season, but during the winter it is a ghost town and we even stay overnight in a Virginia Beach oceanfront resort for peanuts just for the heck of it.

From our current house, the mileage distance to the new lot is less than a 10 mile difference between I-95 and I-81. The I-95 tolls and traffic make I-81 the better option in my books.....

I'll be traveling to my GF house this weekend a few hours away. We are having a monster year and the owner told everyone to take a 4 day weekend this weekend and let off some steam.

I'm sure I will have a LONG list on my "Honey Do" lists when I get there as I have not been there in a few weeks. I have 2 ceiling fans to hang for sure.

Drinks will be involved. #Merica

Weather permitting, giving all my horses a bath. Probably ride my youngest. At any rate, it's 4th of July weekend and no matter how many decades on earth they have been alive (3), they're all still scared of fireworks. So I'll be with them all weekend.

25. My oldest just turned 29 in April. I've had her since 1999.

She's definitely in the bonus I'll never sell her. She's just a pasture puff at this point.

If you are going to be in Helen, you should do the drive over Blood Mountain and the Suches Gap. They are both between Blairesville Ga. and Dahlonega Ga. Excellent runs, and also Brasstown Bald in that same area. All about 30 minutes west of Helen.

That's a great age for a kid. My oldest turned 8 not too long ago. I gotta remember to see about laser tag for my boy's next bday.
