Today is my first day filling up full tank together with octane booster. I drove it hard as usual in warm to hot weather, and there was not a hiccup. I was on the road for roughly 3 hours total, and it was fine. It seems like boosting octane rating did the trick, but I will try it a few more tanks before concluding this finding.

That's very encouraging indeed. Hope it sustains the next few tanks.

BTW, what's your definition of "drove hard"?

Basically, I set it to "Sport", keep RPM high, down shift a lot, and drive fast when condition permits. Nothing illegal that I can think of.

I just got low engine oil error today at roughly 6100 miles. This is probably 4th time since I own the car. I think I won 2013 worst BMW of the year.

Sorry to hear about it man. Maybe you should ask your dealer to buy it back.
BTW, I also had my 1st low engine oil yesterday at 5900 kms.

Thanks wzj519, I just took the damn car to BMW of San Francisco today to get oil top off. They said I have to pay for oil. They said that oil change is included but not topping off oil. BMW ads said $0 maintenance for 4 years. I think I should get some kind of class action going at least for this crap.

Thanks Tuesday, I just called BMW NA today again requesting for a new case manager. At this point, I believe that my car is just a lemon period, and they should buy it back. If it is going nowhere in the next four weeks, I will retain a lawyer per your advice. My case with BMW NA was opened back in May. This is so foolish.

That's whack, dude.

MY SA doesn't even check the engine oil level anymore. I just pull up, say I want a top off, and out they come with a quart of oil. In fact, they don't even ask for my key fob like the first time.

This was my first time visiting this dealership. I thought BMW dealers in LA were lousy, but the one in SF seems a tad worse. I called BMW NA and had them talk to this dealership. We had conference call, and I agree to drop it off at BMW SF next week once return from LA. They still asked me to take it back to top off today and insisting on charging for oil. I told them that I am not driving this thing until I return anyway, and I don't want to bring in the car with oil full while complaining about how it burns so much oil. Even BMW NA rep I spoke to said that this is not normal for BMW product. He even suggested that it should be checked out for problems.

I never have to waste this much time dealing with car issue before. Model S P85+ from Tesla is becoming more and more attractive everyday.

Hopefully BMW NA will give you a good answer. Otherwise, MB's new AWD cls is a way to go. Man.

If BMW NA gives me lame, then I am switching camp for good. MB's customer service is way better so far.

Yeap, MB AWD CLS is pretty crazy for similar money.

Yep, I am really crazy about the new AWD cls63 now. 577HP is damn attractive.
But when I am looking at the depreciate value of my 650gc with 6000kms I am confused to trade it in.

I have tried CLS before 650GC, and I like the way 650GC feels so much more. I also like the look of the GC better than the CLS. Technology/infortainment system wise, 650GC is also a notch more advanced. If BMW NA chooses to buy back rather than repair the car within a reasonable time frame, I might end up dipping into another 650GC or even M6GC if they offer me some good discount. Otherwise, I will switch camp and CLS AMG is definitely a strong contender.

I live in SoCal, own a 2014 M6GC, sounds like you drive your car.. like I do and how they were meant to be driven. I have almost 2,000 miles on my car, not a single issue. She went in for routine/scheduled service at 1,200 miles. Sorry for all your troubles. Sounds like you got a Lemon, make them buy it back, they'll likely reimburse you for everything except the miles you put on the car and the gas. I had a neighbor Lemon law a BMW X3 and another Lemon law a Nissan Titan in the past several years, in both cases, they had to get an attorney that specializes in Lemon Laws.

I had recurring issues with my wife's 2012 740i, not recognizing her iPhone4s, which the car is supposed to be compatible with, after 2 tries, I told my SA they should think about buying the car back. The manager called, scheduled a special service visit, had a loaner waiting, and miraculously fixed the car within two days. Apparently they had to escalate the issue to the top of engineering and developed a firmware update that hadn't been release yet at that time. I was satisfied. That was a around the time I bought the M6GC. Now with iOS7, I'm afraid I'll have issues again, so we haven't updated our phones yet, but when we do, I'm confident that if I have problems, our dealer will handle it.

Yes man. I totally agree with you. The power of the New cls AMG is awesome, but the looking and techs inside the car are outdated for my taste too. If BMW NA can afford you a good deal on M6GC, it is the way to go. The reason I have mentioned cls AMG instead of m6 GC is the prices of the two are in the different price range in Canada. One Cls AMG s-model is just similar a fully loaded 650GC. Around $140,000 Cdn, but the m6 GC is almost $160,0000 in Canada.
That's my bad. Man. If I am in the states, I am also want to go m6GC for sure.
Anyway, hope BMW NA will give you a good solution. A new 650GC or the 6GC is waiting for you.

Beware of Benz, the grass isn't always greener, as the saying goes...
Just my personal experience... my last car was a Benz, E550, traded in on my M6GC. During the 4-1/2 years, 93,000 miles that I owned the Benz, that car was in the shop about 2x per year for issues including, cracked gas tank x2, panoramic sunroof motor x2, cam position sensors, x4, air suspension, and a few other minor issues, in total after the factory 50,000 mile warranty was up, about $9,000 in repairs..plus, the wood on the steering wheel cracked, the car was parked indoors day and night, peeling chrome from the plastic door handles inside the car, and un-even tire wear on the front tires, usually cupped on the inside, causing tire noise after about 15,000 miles.

Thanks PackerFan for sharing your experience, my patience is being tested beyond its reasonable limit as of now. I have requested to switch case manager, but I was told that he is a VP and they cannot change until they get his consent or so. I am willing to overlook this matter if BMW NA does the right thing in timely manner, either fix it right once and for all or just buy it back. I really like this brand because I can be very passionate about driving behind the wheel.
