TPMS for 2015 M6

Hello all,

Seeing some pretty drastic price differences in 4 sensors. Any guidance on what I need to do to make sure the cheapest ones I can buy are actually compatible with my 2015 M6?

Thanks.

In other words, I want to avoid going through the trouble and cost of mounting and balancing the tires only to find out that the TPMS sensor isn't compatible or isn't working.

To avoid trouble...I recommend using the correct 11 digit BMW part nbr to shop for the correct TPM sensors.

It's easy to use one of the online part database sites like:
  1. www.realoem.com
  2. www.bmwfans.info
  3. https://bimmercat.com

...enter the last 7 digits of your VIN...then BROWSE over to the wheel diagrams where you can find the TPM sensors...scroll down do the part nbr index below the diagram and select the part nbr that is correct for your car and build date range.

Once you have the correct 11 digit BMW part nbr....then shop online using it. For example, you can type "BMW xx xx x xxx xxx" (where x = the actual part nbr) and you will find lots of results of vendors that are selling that part...and it's already been cross referenced to the BMW part nbr.

The above is how you cut through all the incorrect parts that may only be marketed for a BMW model that has the same nomenclature but may require a different part nbr due to change in production by date...or by a model with the same nomenclature but from a different chassis (e63/e64 vs f12/f13/f06).

Another example...if you click the link below and then scroll down to #4...you'll see that there is a break during the M6 production. The models built prior to 3/2014 and the ones built after 3/2014 use a different sensor part nbr. This is how one can end up with the wrong part nbr if they are only shopping generically for M6 TPM sensors. If you look up the correct BMW part nbr for your car first (based on its VIN)...then you can avoid rounding up the ones that fall on the other side of the production build date of your car:

Not cheap but I bought this set from this seller. No issues on a 2015 M6.
You do have to know your build date as BMW changed TPMS early 2015 models

Black valve stem TPMS
https://www.ebay.com/itm/TPMS-Sensor...53.m1438.l2649

Note:(RDE017) only works on vehicles w/ a production date after 3/1/2014

If your production date is before 3/1/2014 then you will need RDE012. You can reach out to the seller & provide your VIN to confirm.

Took 9 resets & drove nearly 20 miles but it eventually registered.

Have you asked the shop that is going to mount your tires if they sell them? That's what I did, mostly so if they didn't work it would be their responsibility to take them off and replace them with ones that do
