640i GC Transmission lurch on slow stops
I recently purchased a 2015 640i GC that has 36k. I immediately noticed the vehicle would have a slight bump/lurch just before stopping, when stopping form 25-28mph. I've taken the car back to the dealer 4 times in two months and they are giving me the old "Working as designed" BS. I haven't had this issue happen since my 2008 335i...( the lurch was more pronounced) which ended up needing the transmission replaced. Has anyone had anything similar happen, or can you give me any suggestions to pass off to the dealer?

I’m experiencing something now but it only happens when the car is first cranked and not warmed to operating temperature. When I drive off right after starting my car in the morning and come to a stop sign, I get a small jolt.
I’ve done some research and people who’ve experienced something like this in the past took their cars for a software update to have this issue fixed. I’m still researching to see if this is a true fix and if so, I will be taking mine in to have a software update. |

Are you sure this isn't the efficient dynamics trying to down shift for engine braking? My start stop seems a bit keen creating a bit of a jerk as it stops the engine just before the car comes to a stand still. I can live with it though..

I've noticed the same thing with my wife's 2015 640i GC and I was wondering if it was normal. I'll be sure to mention this to the service tech the next time I visit the dealership.

So after programming, new brake pads, rotors, and a wheel bearing.... still having the original issue. I'm being told it's normal... which seems odd for a car so expensive and advanced that it can't come to a smoother stop in second gear.
