Key blade wont re-insert into FOB

Tried everything but cant get the blade back into the FOB. I don't want to push to hard and break something.

Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

No, I've never had that happen...but obviously something is not quite right.

Why not remove it as well as the rear cover (like if you were replacing the battery)...and see if there's something obstructing the key blade.

Perhaps try the other key if you have to see if the blade fits in the other?

It seems to resist where you press the button to eject.

Again, try removing the back cover to see if something is obstructing the blade going all the way into its dedicated slot. Perhaps the mechanism that pops off the back cover has been partially released and that's blocking the insertion of the key blade.

It seems to resist at the point where the eject button is. The blade itself has a little hook on it. I can see the button wiggling as I apply slight pressure to it.

It all looks clear. This is crazy.

The resistance point seems to be where this little hook meets the plastic.

After closer inspection it seems this metal loop wont sit into the plastic groove.

That was it. Took a flathead screwdriver, wedged it in there, twisted back and forth to expand the plastic and BINGO!

Case closed.
