2008 M6 Convertible Question
I found what seems like a killer deal on a 2008 M6 vert with just 70k miles. Would love a manual but this one is SMG. Runs and looks great. Clean carfax. No record of prior major service though, just oil changes and minor things.
What’s the most I should pay for something like this? And is there a way to tell if SMG pump or rod bearings were done without records of it..? Any other major things to look for and ask about before buying? Thanks! |

I’m currently driving the same vehicle. I purchased an ‘08 convertible with 48K miles for about $22K. Random dealership in GA and had it shipped to TX. My cousin test drive it and everything was great. Once I got it there were a few minor issues. Check engine lights comes on frequently and computer resets at random times.
Overall it’s been worth the money. I swapped out the tires, coils, control arms, purchased an engine oil cooler but haven’t put it on yet. The SMG works great and I wanted a manual as well but you will get use to it. Don’t have an answer for the bearings but I know the day is coming to replace them eventually. Good luck with your purchase. I wanted this car for years so I’m going to put money in it to clean it up and enjoy it. |
