I guess series is the wrong word. More like a Saturday night show?

I remember staying up late on Saturday to watch Saturday Night Live, back when it was cool and the only real comedy show on the air.

You know your old when... you buy a new car and never remove the window sticker on the drivers side window that has all the warnings and info about car.

Could never understand why people don't remove those damn things!

The Blob, starring Steve McQueen, 1958. Saw it at the drive-in. I was 11 years old and it scared the living $hit out of me. Heh!

I remember that. How about the remake, with Kevin Dillon? Liked the original better. Besides, it was Steve McQueen, the "King of Cool." lol

Agreed, Steve McQueen was very cool. I was really sad when he passed at such a young age. He was cool in "The Great Escape", too.

Forgot to mention that I viewed the Blob movie from the back seat of a chartreuse green 2-door 1949 flathead V-8 Ford.

I have a 1936? or 1938? Ford Flathead V-8 sitting in my warehouse. It was the actual vehicle my dad learned to drive. He bought it and had it restored.

You were lucky to have seen it that way. I saw it when it came to TV.

Yeah, Steve McQueen was great. Did you ever see him in Papillon? Very good movie. Dustin Hoffman is the co-star.

That truck is really cool. Even Steve McQueen himself would have been proud to own it.

My father - God rest his soul.....

He would drive it from our warehouse in NJ to his house in NY, keep it there a few months and drive it back. I'd be the "escort" and ride behind him with my flashers on, running interference. It would go maybe 40-45 mph and the suspension...He'd bounce all over the road. He'd want to make the trip 11:00 on a Saturday morning with the damn beach traffic. Umm, no dad. Let's do it at 7:00 or 8:00 am before the weekend warriors hit the road. What I would do to have that argument with him again, or be his escort.

Suspension on those things are passable; the steering's free-play, on the other hand, is on a WHOLE different level.

Then watch 90 minutes of Monty Python... By the time I went to bed it was 03:00 (Atlantic Time).

I still go to bed at 03:00, after waking up in front of the TV which I fall asleep ~ 21:00.

My best sleep has been in front of the TV. 25 Years ago + 1 day (yesterday), I had to tell my better half not to wake me up or turn off the TV...

BTW, my wedding anniversary is July 26. The year was 1975. That's the year SNL started.

That is the year I joined the Navy, so we are probably same vintage, circa 1950's

Anybody remember the "Thriller" TV series on NBC in the early 60s? Hosted by Boris Karloff. Creepy tales that were different every week.
