F06 Exhaust Flap

Hi guys. So I have a 2015 M6 GC w/ Competition Pack and I haven’t driven it in a hot minute.

Today I was letting it stretch it’s legs and felt like it was quiet upon acceleration.

When I got to a parking lot I noticed the exhaust flaps were closed. I had my friend blip the throttle to see if they open when the accelerator is pressed but they wouldn’t open. I then tried poking at it and it does open when you touch it, but goes back to it’s closed position immediately.

Then I took it out again and it sounded loud as sh!t like it usually does.

So my question is, does the M6 open the flap only while driving, or is it broken on mine?

Keep in mind I haven’t gotten an OBD port yet to see if I can manually open it.

My guy -- was is in sport/+?

Secondly, it opens up after a particular RPM in certain modes.

OR, you can buy exhaust meister, the module is plug and play, and valves can be opened upon the press of a button using factory vac line set-up.

Cheers.

You can also just clamp them open, many have done so - otherwise - yes, need be at high enough RPM

I usually have it in M2 mode which has sport plus everything and MDM, when flooring it, it sounded a lot quieter than I remember, however after I drove it hard for a while it seemed to suddenly get louder.

I thought about just coding them to stay open with BimmerCode. I might do that.
