Active Cruise Control retrofit on M6?

Hoping someone has knowledge or can refer me. Traded up to my M6 from a 650 which had the awesome "radar cruise control." Now I believe that's BMW Option 5AT ACC Stop and Go + Active Driving Assistant, which I've read replaces 5DF Active Cruise Control and includes approach control warning with full braking.

But can't be ordered on the M6, even non-manual. Any ideas about retrofitting this incredibly helpful option? Thanks!

Same question. I have a call into BMW USA. They were unable to answer why it's not available but claimed they'd look into it. No touch iDrive either. Are they throwing in the towel until the refresh?

When the E60 was new you could only order active cruise control if you also had the M-Sport package. The reason given was that the sensor(s) required for the Active Cruise control restricted the airflow too much with the standard bumpers and could cause over heating. I suspect a similar reason might apply to the M6 which already has fog light delete to aid cooling.

iDrive touch controller is included on all M6 built from 1st March on.

I wanted active cruise control with M6GC but BMWUK confirmed that this could not be fitted because of the impact the ACC sensor had on air flow for engine cooling.

It's possible and simple but only for MY2014 - iDrive touch controller / control unit + coding
