Tire size/fitment

Couldn't find an answer to this on the search even though I feel like this type of question gets asked frequently.

I'm looking to get a little more sidewall than my current 245/35/20 {} 275/30/20 setup. (NJ potholes are deep!) The wheels I'm looking at are 8.5-9" wide in the front and 10-10.5" in the rear.

Is anyone running a 245/40/20 {} 285/35/20 setup?
That looks like it buys me an extra half inch of sidewall but it makes the overall tire an inch bigger. Just want to make sure it fits in the wheel well without rubbing.

If the answer is no I will probably just drop down to 19" wheels

p.s. i have a 650xdrive; from what I read that makes a difference.

Tires too big & prob look funny.
Either get road hazard protection with your new tires or go for the 19"

I run these sizes with no rubbing issues.

That's about the tallest tire you can run on the front without rubbing the upper strut mounts

Oh man those are really nice, actually almost exactly the looks I was going for.
What offsets are you running?

Also is your car RWD? or AWD?
I keep reading that that is an important point

The specs on the box. No spacer in the rear. 10mm spacers in the front. RWD
