2012 m6 convertible rare?

Last August I was debating between a m4 and c7 vette. But then I came across a super good deal at a local bmw dealership on my 2012 m6 convertible in San Marino blue on silverstone with 40k miles. Added a 3 year 30k axiom platinum warranty for 3600. If it were any other color I wouldn’t of bought it, I hated convertibles at the time (now I love it) but loved the color. Had the wheels powder coated and added 305 pirelli pz4 corsa rear tires, the rkp carbon fiber lip, did a muffler delete black m tips, the real jb4 and charge pipes and downpipes which I still haven’t installed because I love the way it sounds now. I didn’t kno they even made 2012 m6s. The car was sold mid 2013 with 5k miles on it so I’m sure it’s a press car. How rare are these cars?

Mine is a 2012 SMB Convertible also. Wonder if these were like launch edition vehicles ?

The M6 convertible was introduced in 2012 before the Coupe which was launched in 2013, so its not necessarily a press or pre-production model. If you registered over at M registry, you can find out for sure.
