640d tuning

hi all.
i have commented on this idea before with no real response.
i am hoping someone can advise me.
my 640d 2017 is stage 1 remapped to 380bhp..my tuner says stage 1 can go close to 400bhp,then stage 2 up to 420bhp..the only difference for stage 2 is bigger intercooler and DPF removal as FACTORY DPF CAN ONLY FLOW 400bhp max !
i looked at stage 1 (dpf still installed) specs foe an x5 50d.
tripple turbo 50d will stage 1 remap to approx 450bhp...and quad turbo 50d will go to 470 bhp.WITH FACTORY DPF still installed.

so my question is ...can i remove my factory 640d DPF and graft in a factory 50d DPF...then fit bigger intercooler and stage 2 remap to 420bp?

also does anyone know the bho limits of 640d injectors..fuel pump...and turbos ?

im hoping to get 420 bhp without the smoke associated with DPF removal.
thanks in advance for replys.

do you guys just drive your cars and not have any technical knowledge?
this is a very dissapointing forum..

i will try the 4 series forum as they have the same engine and are more enthusiastic.

How does not having experience tuning a tuning a diesel equate to not having any technical knowledge? You must be fun at parties.

you dont have to have done something to have knowledge about it ! im sure you havent been to the moon but have basic knowledge about it...i just thought someone on here might understand the basic principals of dpf and tuning..
i bet you dont even get invited to partys..

3/5 series forums have more info about diesels.
I can understand gasoline drivers have as much interest for Diesel tuning as going to moon...

I'd like to see that 400 hp stage 1. What is stage 1 anyway, remap only? In that case even 380 sounds very good. I had 414hp with IC, downpipe and remap on my 335d. Tuner said it gave very well power, more than he usually gets out of N57. I don't know what was the limiting factor in my case, not the exhaust for sure.

hi.thanks for your response..
yes lots of uk tuners are now quoting (with rolling road back up) 400bhp and even some up to 410bhp on a stage 1 ,which is remapping only,no hardware changes..
your 435d is the same engine as my 640d.
i think there might be discrepancy as uk power figures are in BHP...i believe usa power figures are in HP..which is slightly different..i think some european countrys use ps figures,

stage 2 in the uk id DPF removal and bigger intercooler and a remap...most tuners here quote 420bhp for stage 2,

in the uk MOT (yearly government roadworthy test) is very strict about anyone removing aDPF and a £1000 is the penalty..the mot test was updated recently and ANY smoke whatsoever from the exhaust is an immediate fail, weather thats white, blue or black smoke,
thats why i would like stage 2 remap but without removing the DPF.
i noticed x5 50d will remap up to 470bhp stage 1 with DPF still in.so i thought if i could graft a DPF into my 640d i should be able to get stage 2 420bhp with DPF still in place,
iv heard the injectors and fuel pump/regulator max out around 430bhp and turbos similar bhp too but i was trying to get more info,
my local bmy indy and friend has a stage 1 400bhp 640d and a 2012 last of the v8s m3...he and one of his staff raced them both from 0 to 150bhp...neither car could pull a car length on the other.
i believe you dont get diesels in usa.
i love them because of the torque..my car has 768 nm torque..more than twice an m3.

sorry.i just realized you are in belgium...i believe the 640d/435d engine is more bhp than 335d standard.
335d in uk is 286 bhp...640d /435d is 313bhp.

its late here .
the 640d and e92 m3 was 0 to 150 MPH. not BHP.

and i meant to say my stage 1 640d has 768nm torque ALMOST twice the m3 s 400nm torque.

i think it would be a very close 0 to 150MPH race with a stage 1 640d and a stock 650i..
the stock 650i has 40bhp more but 120nm torque less than the stage 1 640d.

of course a stage 1 650i would be faster than a stage 1 640d.

No, our 335d comes with 313hp. There are various fuel pumps as engine versions and smaller fuel pumps are bottlenecks.
I pass the emission test every year without problems. While driving it, there's a lot of smoke WOT, otherwise none at all.

650 beats 640d, unless heavier. It's the bigger HP that wins races - not torque. Bigger torque is unbeatable in urban driving though.

i take it you have removed your DPF..i bet it breathes much better..
i really wish bmw had given us a 650d diesel..the quad turbo engine that goes in the x5 50d and m550d..(we dont get the m550d in uk)
that would give 395BHP and 780nm diesel 6 series...stage 1 remap takes it to 470BHP and almost 900nm...now that would be a lot faster than a stock 650i...i guess thats why bmw didnt do a 650d.
i love driving the 640d.very torquey, effortless to drive, perfect with the 8 speed auto.
i get 55MPG on the motorway ang 38MPG around town...the remap did help by 3 or 4MPG.
my car was a static showroom car,it has every option except night vision.it even has the b&o sound system.very rare here..its individuel tanzanite blue.its one of the last made...
my last car was a 2012 640d,i kept for 4 years with zero issues..im tempted by the 840d but can only get a non hybrid diesel up to 2020,,i dont want a hybrid.and i love the pano roof in the 640d but 840d coupe cant have a sunroof...on the plus side the 840d rear seat backs fold forward..but x drive knocks 8MPG off..
alos im not keen on the 840d styling at the back..and the interior is very similar to other bmws.
i think the f12 f13 will become a classic in years to come.
in the uk there are now lots of people who went electric car going back to petrol/diesel now....uk charging network is very poor.and with the price of electricity it costs more to charge an electric car at home than you would pay for the same miles in diesel.
