Mercedes-AMG keeps 63S V8 Biturbo Engine for the E63 mid-life refresh.
Looks like some good news for the next 3-ish years at least. Glad to see the V8 will be around for atleast a few more years. On a sidenote, the new E63S looks great & will sound great with this engine.
"Mercedes has confirmed the existing 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 will remain in play, making 450kW/850Nm. There's no mild hybrid electrification trickery happening here either but fuel consumption still isn't horrible, rated at 11.6L/100km. Sprinting to 100kmh takes 3.4 seconds, a tenth shy of that pesky M5 Competition." https://www.stuff.co.nz/motoring/121...updated-e-63-s

The folks on the Benz site like this engine. Early builds had misfires but that seems cured in recent model years.

I like the updates and have gotten use to the new rear of the sedan which I know was controversial, but overall I find it to be a very attractive car, especially the wagon. Also glad to hear about the revised suspension for more comfort as I know that was a big complaint of the pre-refresh.

I've got used to and now like the angry grill but the sloping rear end look is just something I'm never going to love. The wagon looks better IMO.
