Carbon wrapping the area above the pipes

Im looking at having a local firm to wrap (with CF) the area above my exhaust and above the OEM diffuser. I started to do it myself (donít laugh) just to see what it looks like as i think the standard finish is a bit dull. I was looking at a whole new diffuser but i already really have the OEM CF lower diffuser. Will share the pictures when i have it done this week - its only $100 so can always remove if i dont like it

That might look good but a couple points:

- You'd want the shop to recommend you a vinyl wrap that could withstand the heat + dirt from the exhausts
- Could they supply a vinyl that matches the OEM center diffuser - otherwise it may look odd having two types of carbon fiber finish on adjacent panels
- If you've got spare or sample vinyl, may as well give it a go yourself and run with it for a few weeks to see how you like/how it holds up. save the £££

Photo update

Well, I got the wrapping done by a local professional and really happy with the result. Time will tell but considering I couldnít find a decent OEM or other way to complement my existing OEM lower diffuser it matches well without looking too cheap.

That is SLICK. That is the 2x2 pattern? Or the 1x1 - love it

Thanks - a worthy excercise I think for £80 - not sure if its 1x1 but they reckoned this was the nearer visible match and agree there isn’t much contrast to the diffuser which is right next to it. They were able to take the whole panel off to wrap it properly

I think it'll burn off eventually -- or damage the paint with the residue + excessive heat + carbon buildup. I hope you coated the wrapped area, or at least put a PPF under the carbon wrap.

thanks but the company that fitted the wrap didnít see it as an issue and the immediate area near the exhaust has the m-performance carbon fibre surround so no direct heat or at least its shielded. Also the paint work has a ceramic coating as does the rest of the car. Iíll keep it clean so think it should be ok. Will keep an eye on it though...
