I predict the new M3 will be reviewed very similarly.
Everything will be improved except for the "old school" fun driving experience. .

189 mph top speed?? Didn't the last generation car do 199-202 mph? I'm guessing the gearing has been changed to be more aggressive down low and in the mid range, making it more usable. Who goes 200 mph any way.

As far as I know, correct me if I'm wrong in Europe you can have the limiter be 189 instead of 155 here in the states. I think its called the Performance Package (all it does is make the limiter 189 no added hp). However if you delimit the car I'm sure it'll still reach 200

I can't decide if the loss of "funness" is due to the stupidly high weight, or a clear shift in priorities.
I can't imagine that it is the latter, because with the advent of electronic chassis control the badge whores can have a soft car, while the traditionalists an have a stiff and sharp one. Also the fact that they have no subframe bushings also points that M is still M. So actually I am confident it is because the weight. |

What a lame review, showing her slide around the corner twice. But to loose a little bit of fun as she said, (I don't trust her on that at all) and to be able to get 28 mpg hell that's not bad. Wish the e60 m5 would get 28 mpg. The owner of the Greek restaurant i drive by used to have a e92 m3, drove by yesterday and he had a brand new m6 looked stunning.

i will get my M6 in March 2013
this is the most useless review i've ever seen. so we allready know that todays cars are too heavy... we also know that an M6 is not an 911 Porsche... so what did this review tell us??? I test drove an M5 and what i found out is: the car is ridiculous fast...its like you think im going 50 but doing 150 the car is big and fat but still handels like a 3 series the brakes suck (i ordered the ceramic/carbon brakes) |

Unfortunately, that old school fun driving experience used to be the key factor on every M car prior to the new overweight generation |

modern cars must have safety featurs AND comfort features that "old M-cars" didnt have. So BMW engineers dont suck its just the EU laws that make cars weight more and more... BMW M needs to build their own sports car from scratch...and thats what their doing! (i've been told) |

Exactly, and unfortunately the 5 and 6 series are already too heavy to begin with. But the F30's weight is more reasonable and combined with the rumored significant weight reductions, should hopefully lead to a great driving experience and handling for F80 M3 and F82 M4. |
