Eventuri Intake Refinishing
So i had the opportunity to get a set of original blue carbon fiber intakes made by Eventuri. sadly they were scratched a little, so i decided to refinish them
A lot was learned through this process. The intakes are well made, they used a nice thick epoxy, but it yellows from engine bay heat. at least the blue epoxy does. these tubes were actually the same standard black carbon fiber, but covered in a blue tinted epoxy!, this really makes any possibility possible for carbon finishes! Here are some pictures of the refinishing process! I will also put up finished pictures once i complete the MAF tubes, i am currently trying to get the yellowing out of the CF, proving to be a very difficult process. Final option will be hydro dipping the tubes.

I recently found out about epoxy finishing for things like countertops. It is a similar process when finishing the job. You can mix color into the clear epoxy and change results. Now i do believe Eventuris new carbon fiber all has a clear epoxy weave. I have a set of blue carbon intake scoops as well and the weave is different and is a slightly different blue. That leads me to believe they are now using a blue carbon kevlar mat and then sealing it with clear epoxy. I wish i could find a technique to remove the yellowing caused by the engine bay heat

To be honest i doubt they will. The stock i takes are very good. I would say the only thing really wanted or needed are scoops to direct the air to the snorkels better. These i consider are primarily for looks.

The Latest! intake tubes refinished and installed along with a carbon fiber engine cover and matching charge pipes too!. the charge pipes will be installed later as i also need to do maintenance on the turbo coolant lines soon, and will install them one i receive the parts required for that job!
I think these came out very well and can not wait to see the full effect in the sun light and I can not wait to hear the difference!
