Can't locate the other USB

I have a 2016 640d Gran Coupe in the UK. I need to update the maps and the usb under the armrest isn't the one I need to use. I can't find any other one. There is none where the cupholders are and none in, around, or underneath the glovebox.

Does it have one? I'm sure others have managed to update their maps, so there has to be a way.

Thanks.

The other usb is located inside the glovebox. On the top right side.

It's definitely not. Maybe because it's right hand drive.

Cheers anyway.

Then look on the other side/top of the glove box. The USB inserts vertically into the top of the glove box.

It’s the one next to the cup holders at the front of the centre console.

Hopefully someone with a RHD model will chime in. Those of us with LHD models & early builds (pre facelift) w/NBT ID4 have the USB in the roof of the glovebox.

If you have a RHD model, the steering wheel is located on the side of the car where the DATA/USB is located…so I’ve never heard (or don’t remember) any RHD owners mention where the USB port is located.

Our owners manual (LHD) tells us where it is located…is this info missing in the RHD owners manual?

EDIT: did a search for previous threads on this topic…below are some quotes from other forum members from Europe (RHD & diesel) owners

In the owner´s manual it is also stated that it can be done through BMW TeleServices, but that option did not pop up when I tried according to the instructions. Maybe the car has to be in motion?

I will take my car for service tomorrow before it is time for its winter sleep - will ask the dealer then. I also checked which version I have and was MN-003.011.002 and TN followed by the same number.

2016 has USB on the armrest
Vehicles equipped with early CIC and COMBOX have glove box (CIC) and armrest (COMBOX) USB.

...... as your car is a 2016 I'm assuming it's an LCI therefore it's definitely the one by the cup holders under the flap at the front of the centre console - I've update my maps using that port a number of times

Maps are updated via the cup holder one. I've done it 20+ times over the years.

Not free, but $75 for lifetime updates is pretty good. I used this source when I updated my maps about a year ago. No glitches!

I had several BMW in the past. According my experience the CIC systems (up to 2013) have the USB for map and system update in the glove box opposite to the driver seat.
The newer NBT systems (after 2014) do NOT have any USB slot on the glove box, but there the update is done via the USB in the central compartment, the same USB used for playing MP3 via memory stick.
