Have you re-opened and closed the hood solidly to see if it goes away? Sometimes it may take more than once if you didn’t get it closed evenly the first time.

It is literally in the hood latches. Code it out or as a last resort you can cut them out and cap the wires but replacement is pretty easy

Ditto Oris…the sensors are incorporated into the hood/bonnet locks. If you decide to disconnect them…try only disconnecting one at a time to see if only one of them is the culprit. I’d hate for you to be driving at speed down a road and wind gets underneath the hood and it blows back and crashes into your windshield (plus blinding you from seeing what’s ahead of you) because you didn’t know the hood wasn’t secure.

You can see the electrical connection in the upper left in the pic below:

And you can also see it in the pic below (its #1):

Thanks for that, do I have to remove the latch to disconnect?

It look like the one on the right has a electrical connector and the left one doesnt. Is that correct?

When using the online part database sites like bimmercat or realoem.com…make sure that you read the part number index below the diagram for clarification.

Also, when a part is grayed out (like #12 in your diagram) that means that part isn’t used on the vehicle info that you entered. Since there are options and different configurations depending on market…everything illustrated in the diagram may not be used on every vehicle.

When I pull up the diagram for the US market (using my VIN)…item #12 is not listed in the part number index. But when I enter data for a Euro market model similar to mine…#12 shows up in the part database and it is listed for a specific option:

For vehicles with
Active pedestrian protection ( S8TFA Yes )

Qsilver7 I went to take out the old latch to see if I could unplug to have the beep stop until i replace. While taking out the latch I noticed the sensor cable was frayed and stuck in the air duct connector. I replaced my spark plugs and coils a couple days prior and I must of damaged the cable when I was putting things back together again. Nothing a little electrical tape couldn't fix. All is good.

Thanks for your responses!
