640i xDrive 2D coupe 81k

Hello folks,

An Audi owner here. BUT made up my mind to change teams. Fed up with the unreliability of the VAG manufacturer. Looking at a 2016 640i xDrive 2D Coupe with 81k miles.

Read some info on the N55 inline 6. Some issues I already know to look for

VANOS failure
Valve cover leak
Water pump failure

What else do you advise I should look out for ? And what are the 3rd party repair costs for the above ?

Not into engine mods or tunes. Just want a reliable, fast machine

most reliable engine you can buy for this car. suggestion - Stay away from N63s.
water pump has extended warranty by BMW NA.

yes valve cover will leak and it will be about 1200 bucks unless you want to diy it.

unless you have to, be mindful about x drive as well. Transfer case with these may present a problem later on.

Just do oil filter housing and that cheap plastic hose that runs along the front edge of engine Also charge pipe whether needed or not.
