Man, I should have gotten the Meisterschaft Exhaust
Okay, so I got my M6 in April and almost immediately purchased the Eisenmann Race exhaust.
A little history. In 2011, I purchased a new (at the time) 550i. Then, purchased Eisenmann Race exhaust - only to then purchase Meisterschaft a year later. This time around, I think I'm doing the exact same thing. The Eisenman Race is a top-notch exhaust. Nothing wrong with it from a quality standpoint. However, it just doesn't stand out. So, that's about $9000 in exhaust costs (which means, I could have just purchased the Akrapovič from BMW directly). I don't seem to learn my lesson. Now, both of my kids need braces. So, exhaust or straight teeth for my kids? I don't think their teeth are THAT bad....... Last edited by jnkirk1974; 08-22-2014 at 09:31 AM.. |

I think your kids would prefer the exhaust as well. I luckily never needed braces but everyone I knew that had them seemed to hate them growing up. So maybe you should just consult with them, they'll give you their approval. You know, progressive parenting and shit, let them make their own decisions, pray that they are right, bla bla.

Try to avoid braces as long as possible, it's something they can pay for themselves later in life if they deem it necessary. I paid for braces for the first kid and that is it. However, I am sure your exhaust sounds fine and if not, get some catted DPs, don't change exhausts.

I have the Eisenmann Race now wth catless downpipes and it sounds amazing. I get nothing but compliments on how the car sounds.
But... I placed an order for the Meisterchaft a few days ago (w/ black 102mm tips). I just have to hear what the Meisterchaft sounds like. I'll decide which is the best and just sell the one I don't want. I've heard the Akra has a beautiful sound but I am looking for a more raw, nasty, throaty, angry, pissed off, hulk smash, roid rage type of exhaust. I have a feeling Meisterchaft might be the ticket. Yes, I get the CEL. At first I was so concerned about getting rid of it. I now drive with traction control completely off all the time so my dash is lit up as it is. I do understand you won't know when there is a real problem but if you buy an ODBII scanner just check the car for codes regularly. The sound the exhaust makes with catless DPs gives me goose bumps every time I hammer it. Amazing!

I havent noticed any drone with the meisterschaft. These cars are so well insulated. Also I dont really see a need for the valve. Went with the GT exhaust which was probabky 1-2k cheaper. Why would you want to mute the exhaust. Let that bitch sing

My 550 stage 5 with Meisterschaft full exhaust had the best sound... it was deep, throaty and monstrous. loved it. Plus the guys at GTHaus were always helpful and on point with customer service.
I had the eisenman race oval tip on my M6 at first but I felt it sounded like a ricer and I couldn't stand the drone.

If I buy it again, I'll be skipping the valve option. Never really used it. Plus, it eventually stopped working on the right side, so....I couldn't use it even if I needed to.

I have the Meistershaft w black 102mm tips and the LXR midpipes. I also did the wireless valve control to keep the wife happy. I absolutely LOVE it and people tell me that when my car comes rolling down, even in 1st gear, it just sounds nasty. On the other hand, I also have the full RPi system in my E60 M5 and love that too, but it's a completely different engine and nothing will ever sound as good as the V10, so that's not a good comparison. LOL! Anyway, I am thrilled with my Meistershaft system and the compliments I keep getting are insane. The funny part is, you don't really hear it as much when you're driving, but I guess that's a good thing. Hahaha!

I hear you on that for sure... downpipes took care of that for me but yes much louder from the outside.

Whats your thoughts on the LXR pipe. Been thinking about just adding that instead of downpipes. Is there a big increase in sound from just the cat back by itself?
