Its the same with men's basketball we just throw a team together and expect to be the best cuz merica. Sign to me of the weakening of our country. I doesn't hell we populate all the other teams by letting them into our colleges train them then let em leave.

US Men's sprint related events have been absolute shit, period. What an embarrassment that relay race was. Then there's the 800m Murphy who was pathetic and placed dead last. I was actually angry watching that event. Lol.

Won't this be the first Olympics in a long time where the US men's track and field team don't get a gold medal? Sad.

Doesn't matter, all we have to do is pass a fucking baton and we win it by speed. Somehow the American men can't seem to figure this critical component of relay racing out, we'll never get shit. I mean they were DQ'd in the Rio games, right? THAT should've been enough to light a fire and put together a decent team.

That's true, making it even MORE embarrassing. Lol. It's been a very strange Olympics to say the least. At least the women's side have been holding up their end mostly. Bromell not even qualifying for the 100m final was shocking.

Carl Lewis' thoughts on the failed men's relay team:

U.S. sprinting legend Carl Lewis, who was part of 4x100 teams that won gold in 1984 and 1992, wrote on Twitter that the U.S. team "did everything wrong" in Thursday's race.

"The passing system is wrong, athletes running the wrong legs, and it was clear that there was no leadership," Lewis wrote. "It was a total embarrassment, and completely unacceptable for a USA team to look worse than the AAU kids I saw."

Yeah I know, I posted that when they were getting their asses handed to them in the first half, lol. Anything less than a gold medal for basketball is a fail IMO.

Agreed, you should have a team that is doped up and enter them as USOC. Be a competition between them and the ROC. Bet we'd see some pretty weird stuff.

That's exactly what they did which makes it more infuriating because they haven't medaled in the past several Olympic games. US used to dominate and now for some inexplicable reason it's like an afterthought. Makes no sense at all. The women have done well at least.
