I like most of the two and four door previews and renders, except for the trunk cut line that is a jarring reminder of the ugly Bangle/Hooydonk designs. I guess that they're striving for some continuity with the current "bustle" butt on the current 6, but really they should have left that out. The new 5 looks good from most angles and thankfully doesn't have the awful cut lines of the past, so why keep them on the even nicer looking 6?

becuase that trunk cut out is the look of the 6. you eliminate that then you just have a big 3 series. this is why the 6 stands out from the rest. no one is going to look at the trunk cut out line when you're driving by. they are going to say damn thats a sweet car hes got.

Absolutely Amazing. I'm loving this grand coupe. It's funny how they named it a coupe with 4 doors. From what I read it looks like the next 6er will share the same design features as The grand coupe... very nice BMW!!! Wouldn't mind buying this or the next m6

The trunk "floating" look I don't mind so much, in fact it's been done well by other makes as well as BMW themselves on the CS concept. What I find jarring is the diagonal line running from the corner of the window to the tail light, breaking up the otherwise nice lines on the car. In a different thread a poster has highlighted this nicely:

It doesn't look natural to me, but then again I don't like most "hardtop convertibles" that also suffer in the same way, although they at least have a reason for doing so. A dark colored car doesn't appeal to me, but that's the only way to somewhat hide these types of lines. I know it's a nitpick that some folks probably don't even "see" at all. As for what others think, that's not really why I own a car, and if I wanted more "flash" then there are plenty of others to choose from.

But hey, at least the rest of the 6 styling has moved on from the Bangle-bungles and Hooydonk-a-donk nonsense, so we have that to be thankful for!

Why can't BMW put this stance on production cars?

I kinda figured that out!
I lived in Newark for almost 20 years!

Very nice work you do!, it seems you have x-ray vision
I´m ready to start picking the color, the leathers, the options,,,,,,,,gonna be left without a wallet!
But what can I do?? I´ve been dating this car for a few months now!!
I´m in love with it!! The correct thing to do now is get married!!
And it´s not gonna be a shotgun wedding,,,,,,I go completely of free will

Yep,,,,worked next to the East Precinct Police Station on Market St., at the tile warehouse. I´m a bit older than you,,,,,50,,,,but I feel 30.

I see you´re obcessed with "WHITE", "Alpine".
Not a very popular color here in Europe, at least not in Portugal, although lately I´ve been seeing some X6s in white.
I´ll take mine in "Atlantic Green" with camel leather interior.
Atlantic Green is probably not available, I´ll have to try to get Scott27 to put in a good word for me. Have to check out their "Individual" program,,,,either that, or buy a can of paint and do it myself(with a paint brush!,,,,that ought to look nice!):

Keep rendering,,,,just not the 6er, since it seems you hit the bull´s eye!!

Im sure many future models will take cues from this new Concept, just as the new 7 series took many styling cues from the Concept CS.

looks bland, if it didnt have a BMW badge, most people here would sure say it's some honda-toyota coupe thngy. I like older 6 so much compared to this flacid coupe. Older 6er had real charisma about it.

Funny, it does look like a larger 3-series ... but not a bad rendition anyway
